Position Summary:

We are seeking a passionate and highly skilled Data Science Professor to join our University team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data science, machine learning, and statistics, along with the ability to teach, inspire, and mentor students. The professor will be responsible for delivering lectures, leading research initiatives, and contributing to the development of the curriculum within the field of Data Science.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Data Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, and related subjects.
  • Develop and update course materials, syllabi, and lesson plans to ensure alignment with current industry trends and academic standards.
  • Conduct research in the field of Data Science, publishing findings in peer-reviewed journals and presenting at conferences.
  • Mentor and guide students in research projects, capstone projects, and internships.
  • Contribute to academic service activities such as committee work, student advising, and departmental initiatives.
  • Collaborate with other faculty members to enhance the academic environment and promote inter-disciplinary learning.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies, tools, and techniques in data science and incorporate them into the curriculum.
  • Engage in industry partnerships and collaborations to facilitate applied learning opportunities for students.


Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a closely related field (required).
  • Proven track record of research in Data Science, including publications in reputable journals or conferences.
  • Strong expertise in areas such as Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Data Analytics, Big Data, and Statistical Modeling.
  • Experience in teaching at the university level, with a commitment to student-centered learning.
  • Proficiency in programming languages and tools such as Python, R, SQL, TensorFlow, Hadoop, etc.
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts effectively to students and colleagues.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple responsibilities in an academic setting.
  • Experience with data visualization tools and techniques.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Industry experience in Data Science, with familiarity in real-world applications and case studies.
  • Experience with online learning platforms and teaching tools.
  • Active participation in the Data Science academic community, including conferences, workshops, and seminars.
