Job Summary:

  • We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Senior Database Administrator (DBA) to join our dynamic team.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database administration, with a focus on maintaining, optimizing, and securing enterprise-level databases.
  • The Senior DBA will be responsible for managing our company's database systems, ensuring their reliability, performance, and scalability to meet the demands of our growing business.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain the company's database systems, including but not limited to MySQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, etc.
  • Design, implement, and optimize database structures and schemas to support our applications and business processes.
  • Perform database tuning, optimization, and performance monitoring to ensure high availability and efficiency.
  • Implement and enforce security measures to protect sensitive data and comply with industry regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
  • Plan and execute database backups, disaster recovery, and failover procedures to minimize downtime and data loss.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, including performance bottlenecks, data corruption, and system failures.
  • Collaborate with software developers, system architects, and other IT teams to design and deploy database solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Evaluate and recommend new database technologies, tools, and best practices to improve system performance and reliability.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, policies, and procedures related to database administration.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior DBAs and other team members to enhance their skills and knowledge in database management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • 4 to 6 years of experience as a Database Administrator, with a focus on managing enterprise-level databases.
  • Extensive knowledge of database management systems (DBMS), including MySQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, etc.
  • Hands-on experience with database design, implementation, optimization, and performance tuning.
  • Strong understanding of database security principles and best practices.
  • Proficiency in SQL programming and database scripting languages (e.g., PL/SQL, T-SQL, Python).
  • Experience with database monitoring and diagnostic tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.




Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud-based database platforms (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database, Google Cloud SQL).
  • Knowledge of database virtualization and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools for database automation and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD).
