Health Catalyst is expanding and maintains a large suite of Improvement Apps that contribute to healthcare analytics and process improvement solutions. This includes product that manage the care of health system populations, better serve patients at the point of care, reducing health system costs and reducing clinician workload.

Job Summary:

As a Senior Product Owner/ScrumMaster, you’ll play a pivotal role within our diverse Improvement Apps portfolio to better enable team processes, ensure continuous improvement and drive product value delivery for various platforms that serve internal HCAT team members, clinicians, and patients. You'll rely on close collaboration with engineering, product, and other stakeholders while also building and evolving team planning with a data driven approach to ensure regular release cadence.

  • Ensure teams understand feature goals/scope and ensure cross-team coordination and alignment to deliver complex projects.
  • Work with Product Managers to support in Writing the User stories, Define Acceptance Criteria, Documentations w.r.t User Guides, Release notes etc.
  • Work closely with Product and stakeholders to prioritize and groom the product backlog to enable shovel ready work for engineering teams.
  • Steer team towards process and mindset on what they can achieve during each development sprint with a spirit for iterative full feature development.

Serve product development teams for high performance.

  • Ensure each person is working on the right tasks and protecting them from distractions.
  • Think creatively and weigh options to remove impediments and obstacles that hinder team progress and success and help escalate for help when needed.
  • Use data driven approach to ensure teams, stakeholders and customers are getting value from Agile processes in including backlog grooming, sprint planning, and sprint reviews.

Takes ownership of guiding teams toward continuous improvement

  • Monitor and report on Agile team metrics and key performance indicators.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and work with teams to implement changes.
  • Mentor and train team members, Scrum Masters, and Product Owners in Agile principles and practices.
  • Identifies gaps in knowledge/skills and seeks ways to close those gaps (self-guided learning, pairing, seeking guidance for yourself and developing guidance for less experienced members of the team)

What you bring to the role:

  • Should be able to understand the client requirements and technical discussions.
  • Should be able to write User stories and define Acceptance Criteria.
  • Experience in documentation related to User guides, Release Notes etc.
  • Experience in handling User Acceptance Testing.
  • Proven experience as a Scrum Master, facilitating ceremonies and teams in a way that accelerates development, increase predictability, and improves morale.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, conflict resolution abilities and adaptation to change.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships with team members and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of common agile metrics, how to build process to support capture/measurement and how to leverage them in a retrospective/improvement feedback loop.
  • Deep familiarity with Agile planning tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps Planning, etc and how they are best leveraged for high performing teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of Agile methodologies, including Scrum, Kanban, or other frameworks.
  • A passion for continuous improvement and a drive to foster an evolution vs revolution mindset within the organization.
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken English, with the ability to articulate ideas and information clearly.

You may also bring:

  • HealthCare or other technology product development experience
  • Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Certified Scrum Product Owner(CSPO), or other Agile-related certifications.
  • Knowledge of healthcare compliance and utilizing Agile/DevOps tooling/process to meet audit requirements.
  • Knowledge of agile scaling methodologies and associated certifications
  • Previous experience in Agile transformations and organizational change management.

Preferred Experience and Education:

  • A bachelor's (BS/BA) or master's (MS) degree in a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, Scrum Master roles or leading product development is required.

Information Security and Compliance Responsibilities

Maintain compliance with training directives required by the organization pertaining to Information Security, Acceptable Use Policy and HIPAA Privacy and Security.

Adhere to and comply with the organizations Acceptable Use Policy.
