Job Title: Tools Design Engineer

Employment Type: Fulltime permanent

Location: Hebbal, Bengaluru, KA

Job Description: -

Tool Design is designing, developing, and implementing tools and fixtures to support manufacturing processes. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and maintenance, to ensure efficient and effective tooling solutions that enhance productivity and maintain high standards of quality.

Essential Qualification:

B.E (Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering) from a reputed university.

Post Diploma or Post Graduate Diploma in Tool Design from

CITD Hyderabad, GTTC Bangalore or NTTF, Bangalore

Certification courses in industrial Automation, Welding Automation, Robot Programming is an added Advantage

Work Experience:

•CREO 4 to 5 years

•Having knowledge of using Office Tools, Like Power Point, Excel, Word etc

Requirements (Tool design)

•Experience in Design of Welding Fixtures for Welded Assemblies

•Experience in Design of Tack Welding Fixtures, Main Welding Fixtures

•Experience in Design of Welding Fixtures for Heavy Welded Parts

•Experience in Design of Sheetmetal Press Tools, Blanking , Piercing Tools, Design of Press Forming Tools, Bending Tools, Drawing Tools etc.

•Experience in Design of Lifting Tackles for Heavy Weldments

•Design Knowledge of Hydraulic Clamps for Heavy parts

•Welding Knowledge of Steel Welding

•Should have Knowledge in Welding Automation, Selecting Welding Robots as per Component Size . Design of End of Arm tooling for Welded Robots,

•Programming Knowledge of Welding Robots

•Design of Welding positioners , Selection of Welding Positioners

•Design of Weld Automation Cell , Requirements

•Ability to modify the Heavy Industry Tooling as per Customer Requirements

•Experience in Welding design and Symbols. Knowledge in Steel and Aluminum Welding Codes( ASME standard). Welding Design Codes for Heavy Industry like Cater pillar

•Should have 4 to 5 years’ Experience in CAD on CREO and preferable experience in Unigraphics or Solid works. Experience in Solid Modelling, Surface Design, Generative and Interactive Drafting and Assembly Modelling as per Airbus standards

•Collaborate with product design, production, and quality teams to understand requirements and provide optimized tooling solutions.

•Should be able to complete 3D Finish Design for Rough Concept

supplied and Experience in Creation of Tool Drawings for Weldments,

Assembly Drawing and Detail drawing as per Heavy Industry standards

•Conduct feasibility studies, cost analysis, for new tooling projects.

•Should have Experience in Designing Industrial Automation knowledge for Tooling. Should know the Modern Tool Design Methods. General knowledge of CAM (Computer aided Manufacturing).

•Good understanding in Tool Design reviews process.

•Experience in creating Tool usage manuals, Quality & inspection Procedures & Methods

•Ensure compliance with safety standards and industry regulations.

•Good Understanding in Tool Manufacturing Process like Welding, Machining, Sheet metal

•Should have knowledge in Tool Material selection.

•Should have Knowledge in GD&T (ASME &ISO)

•Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) is preferred.

•Familiarity with material selection and cost optimization.

General Team Leading Skills & Customer Interaction:

•Having Experience in Leading Small team of 4 to 5 Members.

•Very Good Communication Skills & Customer Interaction

•Understanding Customer requirements , Scope Requirements

•Ability to have Interacting with Customer for Design Reviews, Preparing Design review Presentations.

•Able to help Managers in Cost Estimation and Proposal Preparation

•Stay updated on industry trends, new materials, and advanced manufacturing techniques.

•Candidates have good Knowledge in Manufacturing Processes.

•Candidate should be conversant with Different Welding Processes, Assembly Processes, Customer Supplier Knowledge, Design / Produce Processes, Engineering Process Improvement Method, Manufacturing Methods, Product Structure & Operational Analysis.

•Candidate Should have knowledge in Handling of Big Weldments, Material Handling Methods

•Develops and maintains technical relationships / partnerships with

customers, suppliers, peers, partners and team members to develop collaborative plans and execute on projects

•Strong understanding of materials and manufacturing processes,

•Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

•Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
