JOB TITLE: Manager- Environment Specialist


FUNCTION / DEPARTMENT: EHS

LOCATION India - Sanand


ROLE PROFILE

Relevant Experience – 15-20 years


Business Expertise:

 Developing and implementing Environment management system.

 Preparing various environmental performance parameters for construction and operational site.

 Time to time review of parameters and recommend necessary changes required in updating the documents.

 Working closely with the statutory bodies for getting the changed parameters approved (from pollution control board).

 Verifying various parameters related to air, water, land, noise pollution.

 Monthly, half yearly and annual submission of returns with the pollution control board.

 Developing various methods to ensure conservation of natural resources and review of EIA.

 Develop monitoring methods for workplace and ambient air monitoring systems

 Develop effective methods to review the disposal / recycling of the hazardous waste, plastic waste, construction waste, E-Waste.

 Monitoring compliance under Various environmental acts like Air, water, land, Noise, etc.

 Provide support in developing environmental lab. Review of environmental parameters during plant operation.

 Conversant in developing environment lab requirements at site


Problem Solving:

 The person has to have very good interpersonal relation and good communication skill.

 Dealing with various state and central pollution control body

 Conversant with various environmental clearance required in construction phase for own and contractor as well as during operation plant.


Nature & Area of Impact:

 The job role is responsible for interpreting various requirements on environment compliance, amendments released thereof, Court orders pertaining to environment compliances and based on these necessary changes are to be implemented at site.

 The role is having direct impact on plant operations any deviation in environment compliance can call for shut down of plant.


Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

• Environmental clearance under various acts

• Developing processes and procedures for Waste management – solid/liquid/ Gas

• Monitoring of effective implementation of the Waste management system

• Review of Environmental clearance at periodic intervals

• Conducting awareness on understanding the waste and Environment management system to employees


Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• Hands on experience of EC, CTE, CTO

• Hands on experience in authorization of agencies who are authorized for waste disposal

• Knowledge of ISO 14001

• Compliance and returns to be filed under various acts and rules framed to comply (Environment)

Desired

• Conversant with government portal

• Various parameters to be maintained for Air, water and land during construction and operational stage

• Bridge between various department and utility in maintaining the pollution under control.


Role Specific Qualifications/Certifications

• Graduate – Environmental engineering or Chemical engineer with masters in Environment engineering


Leadership skills

• Define the scope of the leadership/management responsibilities and any previous experience required

• Independently handled environment hearing, resolving queries from pollution control board, developed environment concerned work force.
