Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Engineer with specialized expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to join our CRIC team. The ideal candidate will have a profound understanding of data systems and analytics, and will be responsible for optimizing our data architecture, ensuring efficient data flow, and supporting high-level decision-making through advanced data insights.


Key Responsibilities:


Design and Build Data Architectures: Develop, construct, test, and maintain robust data architecture systems, ensuring seamless integration with Google Cloud Platform services.


Data Collection and Storage: Implement efficient data collection procedures to gather large volumes of data from various sources, ensuring secure and scalable data storage solutions on GCP.


Data Processing: Develop scripts and processes to transform raw data into useful data systems, including cleaning, aggregation, and manipulation of data.


Analytics and Reporting: Utilize GCP’s analytics tools to build advanced data models and metrics, providing actionable insights and comprehensive reports for strategic decision-making.


System Optimization: Continuously monitor, refine, and enhance the performance of data processes and systems to improve data accuracy and utility.


Collaboration: Work closely with other data teams and stakeholders to understand their data needs and deliver comprehensive data solutions.


Innovations and Upgrades: Stay updated with the latest trends in data engineering and GCP services, recommending and implementing cutting-edge solutions to enhance CRIC’s data capabilities.


Compliance and Security: Ensure all data practices comply with legal and company standards, and employ best practices in data security and governance.


Required Qualifications:


Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.


Proven experience as a Data Engineer, preferably focusing on GCP environments.


Extensive experience with GCP services, including BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, and Google Storage.


Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, and other scripting languages commonly used in data engineering.


Deep understanding of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and data pipeline frameworks.


Excellent analytical skills and ability to work with large, complex data sets.


Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.


Preferred Qualifications:


Certifications in Google Cloud Platform are highly desirable.


Experience in machine learning, data mining, and statistical modeling is a plus.


Prior experience in a similar role within a data-intensive organization.
