Front-End Engineering Manager

We are seeking a highly experienced Front-End Engineering Manager to lead, mentor, and scale our front-end engineering team. This role requires deep technical expertise in React, JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, Tailwind CSS, and modern front-end architecture. The ideal candidate has a proven track record building high-performance, scalable, low-latency UI applications within fast-growing B2B SaaS environments.You will drive engineering excellence, establish best practices, evolve our design system/UI component library, and collaborate closely with Product, Backend, and DevOps teams to deliver world-class user experiences.Roles & ResponsibilitiesLeadership & ManagementLead, mentor, and grow a high-performing front-end engineering team.Conduct regular 1:1s, performance evaluations, and individual development plans.Establish engineering best practices for code quality, testing, documentation, and architecture.Drive sprint planning, estimation, technical scoping, and delivery accountability.Foster a culture of ownership, innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.Technical ExecutionArchitect, design, and review front-end solutions that are scalable, modular, secure, and low-latency.Oversee development of reusable UI components, design systems, and front-end frameworks.Ensure high standards for accessibility, performance optimization, and cross-browser compatibility.Collaborate with backend teams to define efficient API interfaces and data contracts.Make architectural decisions on React state management, caching strategies, bundling, code splitting, and micro-frontend approaches (if applicable).Product & DeliveryPartner closely with Product Managers & Designers to translate requirements into elegant, intuitive user experiences.Own end-to-end delivery of front-end features with predictability and high quality.Ensure proper instrumentation, analytics, and observability for front-end features.Proactively identify technical debt and lead modernization/refactoring initiatives.Quality, Security & ComplianceImplement automated testing frameworks (unit, integration, E2E) to ensure reliability.Ensure front-end applications follow secure coding standards and compliance guidelines.Drive performance audits and implement improvements to achieve sub-second load times where possible.QualificationsMust-Have8+ years of professional front-end development experience, with at least 3+ years in a leadership/manager role.Expert-level proficiency in:React (Hooks, Context, Redux/Zustand/Recoil or similar)JavaScript & TypeScriptTailwind CSS & modern CSS architectureNode.js (front-end tooling, SSR, build pipelines, etc.)Strong experience working in B2B SaaS products with complex workflows and high scale.Proven ability to build high-performance, low-latency, scalable front-end systems.Extensive experience with CI/CD, code quality frameworks, bundlers (Vite/Webpack), and testing tools (Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, Playwright).Demonstrated ability to make architectural decisions and own front-end technical strategy.Experience working in fast-paced startup environments.Nice-to-HaveExperience with design systems, Storybook, or component libraries.Familiarity with micro-frontends, module federation, or large-scale app decomposition.Exposure to cloud environments (AWS/GCP), containerization, and API performance optimization.Prior experience integrating with analytics platforms, feature flag systems, or A/B testing frameworks.Understanding of WebSockets, real-time interfaces, and state synchronization at scale.What We Are Looking ForA hands-on leader who can review PRs, guide architecture, and unblock engineers when needed.A strong communicator who collaborates across product, design, and backend engineering.Someone who cares deeply about user experience, performance, reliability, and clean code.A builder mentality — someone excited to create foundational systems, iterate rapidly, and scale.
