Medi-Caps University is looking for a suitable candidate for the position of Dean of Faculty Affairs -


Educational Qualifications & Experience:


(i) An eminent scholar with Ph.D. qualification(s) in the any discipline and published work of high quality, actively engaged in research with evidence of published work with a minimum of 10 publications as books and/or research/policy papers.


(ii) A minimum of 15 years of teaching experience in university/college, and/or experience in research at the University/National level institutions/industries, including experience of guiding candidates for research at doctoral level.


(iii) Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology – mediated teaching learning process.


(iv) A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS), set out in UGC guidelines.

B. An outstanding professional, with established reputation in the relevant field, who has made significant contributions to the knowledge in the relevant discipline, to be substantiated by credentials.


KRA of Dean of Faculty Affairs -


1 Faculty Recruitment and On boarding:

  • Developing and implementing strategies for attracting and hiring qualified faculty members.
  • Overseeing the on boarding process for new faculty, including orientation programs.

2 Faculty Development:

  • Designing and implementing professional development programs for faculty to enhance teaching, research, and leadership skills.
  • Supporting opportunities for advanced degrees, certifications, and workshops.

3 Performance Evaluation:

  • Establishing and managing faculty performance evaluation processes.
  • Providing constructive feedback and facilitating professional growth.

4 Faculty Welfare and Grievance Handling:

  • Addressing faculty concerns, grievances, and conflicts.
  • Implementing initiatives to enhance faculty well-being and job satisfaction.

5 Workload Management:

  • Monitoring and managing faculty workloads to ensure a balanced distribution of responsibilities.
  • Addressing issues related to teaching, research, and service commitments.

6 Faculty Retention:

  • Implementing strategies to retain talented faculty members.
  • Identifying and addressing factors that contribute to faculty turnover.

7 Diversity and Inclusion:

  • Promoting diversity and inclusion among the faculty.
  • Implementing policies and initiatives to ensure an inclusive and equitable work environment.

8 Research and Scholarship Support:

  • Supporting faculty in their research and scholarly activities.
  • Facilitating grant applications and research collaborations.

9 Faculty Recognition:

  • Developing and implementing programs to recognize and reward faculty achievements.
  • Celebrating accomplishments in teaching, research, and service.

10 Academic Policies and Compliance:

  • Ensuring that faculty adhere to academic policies and standards.
  • Implementing and communicating changes to academic policies as needed.

11 Collaboration with Academic Departments:

  • Collaborating with academic departments to align faculty resources with departmental goals.
  • Facilitating communication and cooperation among departments.

12 Budget Management:

  • Managing the faculty affairs budget effectively, allocating resources to support faculty development and initiatives.

13 Faculty Engagement with Students:

  • Encouraging faculty involvement in student mentorship, advising, and extracurricular activities.

14 Advisory Role:

  • Serving as an advisor to the university administration on matters related to faculty affairs.
  • Participating in strategic planning and decision-making processes.
