Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Design and Cost Estimation Manager. The Design and Cost Estimation Manager will be responsible for overseeing the design and cost estimation process for solar projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in solar project design, engineering, and cost analysis, with a focus on optimizing efficiency and ensuring project feasibility.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Solar Project Design:

  • Pre-sales design and engineering of solar energy systems, including photovoltaic (PV) arrays, inverters, mounting structures, and electrical components.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to develop innovative design solutions that meet project requirements and industry standards.
  • Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and technical evaluations to determine optimal system configurations and layouts.


2. Cost Estimation and Budgeting:

  • Develop detailed cost estimates for solar projects, including material costs, labor expenses, equipment procurement, and construction costs.
  • Analyze project specifications and requirements to accurately estimate project budgets and timelines.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.


3. Technical Documentation and Reporting:

  • Prepare technical specifications, drawings, and documentation for solar projects, including engineering drawings, schematics, and installation manuals.
  • Generate reports and presentations to communicate project concept design, cost projections, and technical insights to stakeholders and management.
  • Maintain accurate records of design revisions, project changes, and documentation updates.


4. Quality Assurance and Compliance:

  • Implement quality assurance processes and standards to ensure the reliability, safety, and performance of solar energy systems.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations (BIS, IEC), building codes, environmental standards, and safety protocols.


5. Team Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Supervise a team of engineers, designers, and technicians involved in solar project design and cost estimation activities.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment, encourage knowledge sharing, and promote continuous learning and development.
  • Coordinate with project management, procurement, and construction teams to facilitate seamless project execution and delivery.


Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering,
  • Similar field experience 3-5 years
  • Proven experience in solar project design, engineering, and cost estimation, preferably in the renewable energy industry.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, PV design tools, and cost estimation software (e.g., PVsyst, HelioScope, AutoCAD, MS Excel).
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to interpret technical specifications and engineering drawings.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices in solar energy systems.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and sustainability in all aspects of project design and execution.
