Job Profile:

The Senior Software Project Manager is responsible for leading a team of software developers, managing the software development lifecycle, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality software products. The role involves both technical leadership and people management, focusing on the design, development, and maintenance of software solutions that meet business requirements.

1.Job Responsibilities:

1.Team Leadership & Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of software developers and engineers.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment that encourages continuous learning and improvement.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and support professional growth of team members.

2.Software Development Management:

  • Oversee the entire software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Ensure that software development projects are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.
  • Define and enforce software development best practices, including coding standards, version control, and documentation.

3.Technical Leadership:

  • Provide technical guidance and expertise to the development team.
  • Collaborate with architects and other technical leads to design scalable, robust, and secure software solutions.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, and recommend adoption where appropriate.

4.Project Management:

  • Work closely with product managers, stakeholders, and other departments to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements.
  • Develop project plans, allocate resources, and manage the day-to-day activities of the development team.
  • Track project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful project delivery.

5.Quality Assurance & Testing:

  • Ensure that all software products meet the organization’s quality standards.
  • Collaborate with QA teams to develop and execute comprehensive testing strategies.
  • Implement continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices to enhance product quality and delivery speed.

6.Communication & Collaboration:

  • Serve as a liaison between the development team and other departments, ensuring clear communication of technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Facilitate regular team meetings, stand-ups, and retrospectives to keep the development process on track.
  • Provide regular updates to senior management on project status, team performance, and technical challenges.

7.Vendor & Tool Management:

  • Evaluate and manage relationships with third-party vendors and service providers.
  • Select and implement development tools, frameworks, and libraries that enhance productivity and quality.
  • Negotiate contracts and manage budgets for software tools and services.

8.Security & Compliance:

  • Ensure that software products comply with relevant security standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with security teams to integrate security best practices into the development process.
  • Conduct regular code reviews and security audits to identify and address potential vulnerabilities.

2.Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in software development, with at least 4 years in a technical leadership or management role.
  • Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, C#, Python, .Net, PHP).
  • Strong proficiency in one or more Database (MS SQL, My SQL, Oracle).
  • Proficiency in tools like MS Project, Jira, Asana, or similar.
  • Proven experience managing the software development lifecycle and leading development teams.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and development methodologies.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with Agile or Scrum methodologies.
  • Strong knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with software security best practices and compliance requirements.
