Introduction:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated QA Automation Engineer with hands-on experience in Appium for mobile automation testing, Java for test scripting, and REST API testing to join our innovative team in Bangalore. As part of our engineering team, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our mobile applications and APIs by designing and implementing automated test strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mobile Test Automation: Develop and maintain automated test scripts for mobile applications (iOS and Android) using Appium.
  • Java Programming: Write robust, efficient, and maintainable test code in Java for mobile automation and REST API testing.
  • API Testing: Design and implement automated tests for REST APIs, ensuring end-to-end functionality and integration testing.
  • Test Strategy & Framework Development: Develop and optimize test frameworks to support mobile and API automation, ensuring scalability, reusability, and maintainability.
  • Test Execution & Debugging: Execute automated test cases for functional, regression, and integration testing, identifying and troubleshooting any issues in the process.
  • CI/CD Integration: Integrate test automation scripts into Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines to enable faster feedback cycles.
  • Test Reporting: Create and maintain detailed test execution reports, log defects, and track progress in tools like JIRA.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other QA team members to ensure test coverage is comprehensive and aligned with business requirements.
  • Test Documentation: Maintain and document test cases, automation processes, and best practices.

Required Skills:

  • Mobile Automation with Appium: 2+ years of hands-on experience automating mobile application tests (Android and iOS) using Appium.
  • Java: Strong proficiency in Java with experience in writing test scripts, debugging, and automation of both mobile and API tests.
  • REST API Testing: Experience with testing RESTful APIs using tools like Postman, RestAssured, or HttpClient, and the ability to write automated API tests.
  • Test Automation Frameworks: Experience building and maintaining test frameworks in Java (e.g., JUnit, TestNG, Cucumber, or custom frameworks).
  • Version Control: Strong experience with Git and using version control best practices.
  • CI/CD Pipelines: Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI, and integrating automated tests into these pipelines.
  • Bug Tracking: Familiarity with defect tracking tools such as JIRA or similar.
  • Mobile Platforms: Good understanding of mobile platforms (Android, iOS), device emulators, and simulators.
  • Agile Methodology: Experience working in Agile environments, participating in sprint cycles, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills:

  • Appium Grid/Cloud Services: Experience working with Appium Grid, Sauce Labs, BrowserStack, or other cloud-based mobile testing platforms.
  • Performance Testing: Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner) for APIs or mobile apps.
  • UI Automation: Knowledge of UI automation techniques for mobile apps and web interfaces.
  • Test Reporting: Familiarity with reporting frameworks like Allure Reports, ExtentReports, or Cucumber.
  • Agile Tools: Experience with JIRA, Confluence, or similar collaboration and issue tracking tools.
  • Cloud Services: Understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and how they integrate with mobile app testing.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in test automation, with a focus on Appium, Java, and REST API testing.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot issues effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate in a cross-functional team.
