About Kallam Anji Reddy Vidyalaya (KARV)

In 2001, DRF established the Kallam Anji Reddy Vidyalaya to provide accessible quality education to children from low-income households. With over 7,000 alumni and 80% of students from economically weaker sections (annual family income of less than Rs.2,00,000), true to its mission, the school has been on a quest to develop skills and qualities that will enable students to thrive.

We aim to create a fostering schooling experience exemplifying a benchmark in educational standards, holistic development and service, making the school the most sought-after in the country. Responsibilities


The role of the School Principal is all-encompassing, overseeing all facets of the school's operations, directly or indirectly within their purview.


Leadership


● Continually strive to improve the operational efficiency and effectiveness of the school by designing processes and optimizing resources, in line with the vision of building a top-class institution.


● Actively engage in overseeing budgeting and grant proposals and safekeeping finances and school infrastructure by ensuring timely monitoring, auditing, compliance and reporting of all aspects related to school finances including student fees, funds and maintenance.


● Be proactive in staying up to date with the latest developments in the administration of a school including new procedures and technologies by focusing on professional development and constantly engaging with organizations/individuals in the ecosystem.


● Monitor students' and teachers' adherence to approved policies, procedures and processes by establishing a system to frequently garner adherence reports.


● Ensure strict compliance with local and national guidelines and regulations about maintaining and managing educational institutions by keeping updated about the latest developments.


Educational Program


● Promote the development of educational programs with a curriculum that can best meet the vision of establishing the gold standard in education, balancing the expectations and interests of students.


● Embedding high-quality vocational education in high school to ensure that students have a strong foundation to make an excellent transition to college and industry thereafter.


● Keenly observe the methods of instruction and Assist the teaching staff in the development, implementation, modifications, and selection of curriculum materials that augment the established curriculum.


● Network with organizations/individuals and build partnerships that can enhance curricular and extra-curricular outcomes for students.


● Direct regular evaluation of student progress and achievements and provision of reports and guidance to parents.


Staff Supervision and Development


● Participate in hiring, training and other employment activities for teachers, secondary staff and agencies to ensure the right staff size at all times.


● Ensure effectiveness in daily operations at all levels by assigning clear and objective deliverables and assessing performance.


● Promote the professional development of all staff by identifying staff development training programs and educational courses that enhance the skills and competencies of the staff.


Communications


● Develop and maintain open communication channels including social media, and newsletters with parents or guardians, regarding the educational program, school activities, progress and achievements of students.


● Adhere to Public Relations and Communications norms and policies when dealing with external media.

Health and Safety


● Ensure that students and teachers are well-prepared to take care of their health and well-being by coordinating initiatives like mental-health clubs, health camps, water & sanitation clubs, waste management clubs and fire safety drills.


● Regularly audit the premises for infrastructure safety including school buildings, grounds, staircases, electrical equipment and ramps to provide a safe environment.


● Ensure that students, teachers and all visitors have access to the school map and safety manuals.


● Maintain comprehensive first-aid plan and equipment and ensure proper training of concerned staff, in case of emergency.


● Ensure that the premises including classrooms and grounds are always neat by planning and establishing work shifts for relevant staff.


Others


● Ensure that the norms for communication between students and teachers are being adhered to.


● Ensure that students receive timely communications about all relevant matters like disciplinary guidelines, activities and events.


● Promote sports and extra-curriculars by making necessary resources and arrangements on time.


● Be open to interacting with students as and when required, addressing their concerns and providing mentorship/counselling services.


● Ensure maintenance of all documents including records, files, and reports diligently.


● Organize staff meetings regularly to assess progress with annual goals and take measures to create an enabling environment.


Desired Qualifications


● A Master’s degree in Education

● 5-7 years experience as a principal or in a similar role, in the CBSE curriculum

● Thorough understanding of pedagogies, teaching and learning styles

● Proven leadership, supervision and administrative abilities

● Proficiency in budgeting

● Excellent written and verbal communication skills

● Fluency in English, Telugu and Hindi

● Proficient in Microsoft Office
