Dean – Academics

Desired Candidate Profile:

Master’s Degree in any field from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university

Ph.D. holders shall be given preference

Minimum 10+ years of experience in Academics/ Academic Administration at senior-level positions in educational institutions in the country and abroad

Project management experience and/ or training, along with strong organizational and process design skills

Supervisory experience and strong understanding and competence in human resource administration

Demonstrated ability to take on complex issues and provide creative solutions

Responsibilities:

Coordinating university’s strategic planning and facilitate the development and adoption of cutting-edge curricula and pedagogy

Co-ordinating the development of and implementing the University’s Vision and Goals Statement; Oversee well-coordinated administration of the Faculty with support from program chairs/coordinators and other members of the Faculty including fulltime and adjunct teaching staff, visiting faculty members, practitioners, university offices and administrative staff of the Faculty and University

Supervising, evaluating, and supporting Departments/University in a manner that promotes excellence in instruction, scholarly and creative productivity;

Leading and coordinating the Governance of the University;

Leading the processes of university administrator selection and overseeing the processes of faculty and staff selection and retention;

Co-ordinating the professional development of university administrators and staff

Reviewing the Departmental/University policies, procedures, and recommendations for appointment, salary, retention, tenure, and/or promotion of faculty, and ensuring that all University guidelines & policies are followed;

Providing recommendations to the provost regarding sabbaticals and other leaves for faculty and staff;

Advising the University provost on university policies and procedures;

Providing recommendations to the provost on policies and procedures, especially in the academic area;

Developing, leading, and encouraging fundraising in support of the university's goals and the goals of its departments and programs, as well as outreach and public service efforts
