Performance Test Engineer

JOB SUMMARY
The QA Performance Lead - JMeter is responsible for leading performance testing efforts, utilizing JMeter and related tools, to evaluate the scalability, stability and responsiveness of new products in Irth Solutions. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify performance-related issues, recommend improvements and ensure that performance goals are met. The lead must drive the performance testing project end to end for agile projects, also he should understand our clients’ needs and identify how they fit within the organization framework.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Currently working as Performance test lead and has experience 8-12 years and has relevant 6+ years in managing complex SaaS based projects / product company in performance testing using performance testing tools like Jmeter / Load Runner / Blazemeter.
2. Lead and manage large, complex, enterprise-level projects hosted on Azure DevOps platform.
3. Test Planning: Develop comprehensive performance test plans that outline the testing scope, objectives, test scenarios, workload profiles and success criteria.
4. Test Design: Create detailed performance test scripts using JMeter, including scenario design, parameterization, correlation, and data-driven testing.
5. Test Execution: Execute performance tests and monitor system resources, network utilization, and application response times during test runs.
6. Load Generation: Configure and manage load generators and distribute testing environments to simulate realistic user loads.
7. Performance Analysis: Analyze test results to identify performance bottlenecks, scalability issues and resource constraints. Collaborate with developers and system administrators to resolve these issues.
8. Reporting: Generate comprehensive performance test reports with clear findings, recommendations, and performance metrics. Communicate results to stakeholders and management.
9. Automation / Scripting: Automate performance tests and integrate them into the continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipeline for ongoing monitoring and regression testing e.g Azure DevOps, Jenkins etc.
10. Performance Monitoring: Implement real-time monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify performance issues in performance environments.
11. Team Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to other performance testers in the team and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, quality assurance engineers and system administrators.
12. Tool and Technology Evaluation: Stay updated with the latest trends and tools in performance testing and contribute to the selection and adoption of appropriate tools and methodologies.
13. Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of performance test plans, scripts, configurations and results.
14. Manage full performance testing project E2E including initial planning, scoping, resourcing, metrics, action items, deliverables.
15. Highlight project risks and issues, deviations from plans with a focus on delivery planning.
16. Managing projects that often consist of multiple agile teams that require integration with other complex applications.
17. Implement the appropriate people, process, tools to improve team efficiency and effectiveness. Achieve the project goals within designated project constraints.
18. Mentor and guide rest of the team members as required.
19. Develop performance scripts for projects following agile sprints and have continuous testing in place.
20. Ability to troubleshoot technical issues related to performance framework and modify scripts based on the Root Cause Analysis
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
1. Must Have - Hands on experience in JMeter, Load Runner, Blaze meter, Git, CI tool Azure Devops, Jenkins, minimum completed 2-3 end to end projects from scratch.
2. Must Have - Hands on experience in APM tools e.g. Dynatrace, AppDynamics, New Relic, Azure Monitoring, minimum completed 2-3 end to end projects from scratch.
3. Strong QA background to write, review test cases / test scripts with given requirements.
4. Strong knowledge on performance testing concepts and practical challenges.
5. Demonstrated decision-making skills for tools to use in a project, performance testing framework setup, research on tools and techniques based on project needs.
6. Overseeing the quality assurance team and ensuring the delivery of high-quality scalable software products.
7. Demonstrated technical prowess including solving complex problems, performance scripting skills and familiarity/understanding of systems architecture.
8. Good to Have - Certifications related to Testing, Agile, performance testing is an added advantage (e.g. Jmeter, Load Runner, Blaze meter, CSTE, CSTM, ISTQB, CSM, SafeAgile)
9. Good to Have – Exposure and experience of latest AI tools used in performance testing of web / mobile / API applications.
10. Good understanding of the product development cycle

12. Ability to work in both a team and as an individual.
13. Good problem-solving and debugging skills.
14. Skilled in working well under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.
EDUCATION
· University Degree, preferably B.Tech. Degree or equivalent in Engineering discipline or Business Degree.
