As a seasoned Oracle Apps DBA, you will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing Oracle E-Business Suite environments. You will play a key role in ensuring high availability, performance, and security of Oracle databases and applications, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to support business-critical operations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation & Configuration:
  • Install, configure, and maintain Oracle E-Business Suite (R12.x) and Oracle databases (11g/12c/19c).
  • Set up and manage multi-node RAC environments and ASM storage.
  • Maintenance & Support:
  • Perform patching (ADOP, CPU/PSU), cloning, backup, and recovery using RMAN.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot application and database issues including Concurrent Managers, Workflow, and Forms/Reports.
  • Performance & Optimization:
  • Conduct performance tuning of databases and applications.
  • Implement purging, archiving, and cloning strategies.
  • High Availability & Disaster Recovery:
  • Configure and manage Oracle Data Guard for standby setups and failover operations.
  • Ensure 24x7 uptime and participate in on-call support and weekend maintenance.
  • Automation & Scripting:
  • Develop and maintain Shell, Perl, SQL, and PL/SQL scripts for monitoring and reporting.
  • Automate routine DBA tasks and alerts.
  • Security & Compliance:
  • Enforce database security policies and access controls.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance and audit standards.
  • Documentation & Collaboration:
  • Maintain DBA runbooks, cloning procedures, and upgrade documentation.
  • Collaborate with developers, system admins, and business analysts.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Technical Skills:
  • Oracle EBS R12 architecture, AD utilities (adpatch, adadmin, etc.)
  • Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, RMAN, OEM
  • Linux/Unix environments and scripting
  • SQL, PL/SQL, and performance tuning
  • Certifications:
  • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or equivalent preferred
  • Soft Skills:
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership abilities
  • Ability to mentor junior DBAs and work in agile environments


Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with cloud platforms (Oracle Cloud, AWS, Azure. etc.)
  • Exposure to OBIEE, APEX and Oracle Fusion Middleware
