We are looking for a skilled Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) Level 1 with approximately 3 years of hands-on experience in Oracle database administration. This role is pivotal in maintaining the performance, integrity, and security of our Oracle databases while ensuring efficient operations within our IT environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and administer Oracle databases, including installation, configuration, upgrades, and patches.
  • Design and implement database structures and schemas.
  • Monitor database performance and optimize queries for efficiency.
  • Implement backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot database issues; implement solutions to prevent recurrence.
  • Collaborate with IT teams and developers to support database requirements and projects.
  • Maintain database security and ensure compliance with security policies.
  • Create and maintain documentation, including operational procedures and system configurations.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support and incident response.


Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Approximately 3 years of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in Oracle database administration tasks such as performance tuning, backup and recovery, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong SQL and PL/SQL skills; ability to write and optimize complex queries.
  • Experience with database monitoring and diagnostic tools.
  • Knowledge of database security best practices and techniques.
  • Familiarity with Unix/Linux operating systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification.
  • Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) for monitoring and management.
  • Familiarity with Oracle RAC (Real Application Clusters) and Data Guard.
  • Knowledge of cloud database solutions (e.g., Oracle Cloud, AWS RDS).
