IT Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated IT Specialist with 3 to 5 years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong scripting skills, hands-on experience with networking (including internet, firewalls, and IT tools), and expertise in implementing security best practices. Familiarity with cloud platforms (Google Cloud) is a big plus.

Key Responsibilities:

Scripting & Automation:

• Develop and maintain scripts for automating IT processes (using Python, Bash, PowerShell, etc.).
• Improve system efficiency through automation of repetitive tasks and workflows.

Networking:

• Manage, monitor, and troubleshoot network components including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
• Configure and maintain network security protocols such as firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
• Ensure reliable internet connectivity and internal network performance.

Security Best Practices & Implementation:

• Implement and maintain industry-standard security best practices across all systems and networks.
• Develop and enforce security policies, such as password management, data encryption, and access controls.
• Conduct regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing.
• Proactively monitor systems for potential security breaches and respond to incidents promptly.
• Collaborate with the team to develop and execute security protocols and incident response plans.

IT Tools & Support:

• Administer and maintain IT tools for system monitoring, ticketing, and team collaboration.
• Provide technical support, diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues for internal teams.

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of experience in IT support, networking, or a related role.
• Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell, etc.).
• Deep understanding of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching).
• Experience with firewalls, VPNs, and other network security technologies.
• Proven ability to implement and enforce security best practices and policies.
• Familiarity with IT tools such as monitoring software, ticketing systems, and version control.
• Knowledge of security frameworks and ability to perform regular security assessments and audits.
• Experience with Google Cloud platforms is a big plus.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities, especially in security-related challenges.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
