Hiring PostgreSQL Architect for one of our premium projects.


Job Summary:

This role includes responsibility for designing, installing, configuring, and maintaining on-premises PostgreSQL databases, as well as standardizing and optimizing according to best practices.

Also involves setting up high availability, tuning database performance, ensuring data security, and migrating data from existing Hive databases to PostgreSQL while adhering to best practices and industry standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and architect PostgreSQL databases based on business requirements to support new and existing applications.
  • Implement best practices for database design, performance tuning, and security.
  • Ensure database scalability and capacity planning to accommodate data growth.
  • Plan and execute data migration from Hive databases to PostgreSQL.
  • Develop and manage ETL processes to ensure efficient data transfer.
  • Perform data validation and quality checks post-migration.
  • Implement security measures to protect data integrity and privacy.
  • Design and implement high availability solutions including replication, clustering, and failover strategies.
  • Develop and configure disaster recovery plans, ensuring minimal downtime and data loss.
  • Analyse database performance metrics and implement tuning strategies.
  • Optimize SQL queries, and database configurations to enhance the performance.
  • Perform regular performance tests and provide recommendations for improvements.
  • Implement and manage monitoring solutions to ensure database health and performance.
  • Schedule and perform regular maintenance tasks including backups and restores.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database issues.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation for database configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Provide training and knowledge sharing sessions to team members.
