**Job Summary:**


We are seeking a skilled Backend Developer to join our team in maintaining and improving our existing Node.js-based influencer marketing platform, which utilizes Firebase as the backend platform. The platform enables brands to discover, collaborate, and manage influencer marketing campaigns from start to finish. As a Backend Developer, you will be responsible for ensuring the platform's scalability, performance, and reliability, while also updating and refining existing features to stay ahead of the competition.


**Key Responsibilities:**


### Platform Maintenance


1. **Monitor and Analyze Logs:** Utilize logging tools like Papertrail or Loggly to monitor and analyze logs, identifying potential issues and bottlenecks.

2. **Optimize Database Queries:** Optimize database queries to improve performance, using tools like MongoDB Atlas or Firebase Firestore.

3. **Implement Caching:** Implement caching mechanisms to reduce the load on the database and improve performance.

4. **Manage Dependencies:** Manage dependencies and ensure that all packages are up-to-date and secure.

5. **Perform Regular Backups:** Perform regular backups of the database and ensure that all data is properly stored and recoverable.


### Codebase Maintenance and Updates


1. **Understand and Refine Existing Codebase:** Understand the existing codebase and refine it to improve performance, scalability, and reliability.

2. **Update and Refactor Existing Features:** Update and refactor existing features to ensure they are aligned with industry standards and best practices.

3. **Implement Bug Fixes:** Implement bug fixes and troubleshoot issues reported by users.

4. **Collaborate with Team:** Collaborate with the team to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to the codebase.


### Containerization, CI/CD, and Unit Testing


1. **Containerization:** Implement containerization using Docker to improve scalability and reliability.

2. **CI/CD:** Implement continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using tools like Jenkins or CircleCI.

3. **Unit Testing:** Write unit tests for individual components using testing frameworks like Jest or Mocha.

4. **Automated Testing:** Implement automated testing and validation using tools like Selenium or Cypress.

5. **Infrastructure as Code (IaC):** Use infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation to manage infrastructure.


**Requirements:**


* 1-3 years of experience in backend development with Node.js, Express.js, and MongoDB

* Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, API design principles, and data analytics

* Experience with Firebase and internationalization

* Knowledge of security and compliance best practices, including data management and GDPR.

* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

* Strong communication and collaboration skills

* Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud) and monitoring tools (Posthog)

* Experience with containerization, CI/CD, and unit testing


**Nice to Have:**


* Experience with machine learning algorithms and natural language processing

* Familiarity with frontend development frameworks (e.g., React, React Native)

* Experience with Agile development methodologies and version control systems (e.g., Git)
