Job Title: Industrial Engineer (Garment Industry)


Job Overview: An Industrial Engineer in the garment industry works to enhance manufacturing processes, reduce production costs, and maintain high product quality in clothing production facilities. They are responsible for analysing and optimising various aspects of the garment manufacturing process to improve efficiency and profitability.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Process Analysis and Optimisation

Analyse existing manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement

  • Workstation Design and Layout (OB)

Develop optimised workflows designs to enhance productivity and reduce waste

  • Time and Motion Studies

Conduct time & motion study to identify bottlenecks and optimise workflow

  • Production Planning

Plan and schedule production activities to meet customer demand and minimise downtime

  • Quality Control and Assurance

Establish and enforce quality control procedures to ensure product standards are met

  • Cost Analysis and Reduction

Implement cost saving measures by streamlining operations and reducing overhead

  • Data Analysis and Reporting

Collect and analyse data related to production, labor, and materials to make informed decisions

  • Process Standardisation & Facility Layout

Optimise existing SOP's and design new SOP and facility layout for maximum efficiency and safety

  • Technology Integration

Implementing new technology & techniques to enhance Production efficiency & Quality & match buyer’s timelines.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
  • Knowledge of garment manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Proficiency in industrial engineering software and tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies will be an advantageous.
