About the job

We're looking for an innovative, passionate, and high-agency founding engineer to join our team at youe. You are someone who thrives on conceptualising, developing, and deploying ML models. You excel at processing and analysing large, complex datasets and using your findings to inform model development. Your expertise spans the entire ML lifecycle, from problem definition to deployment, and you're adept at fine-tuning LLMs for specific tasks. You have a knack for translating user feedback into product updates and are excited to be part of planning our core product roadmap and strategy. With your proven industry experience, proficiency in Python and ML libraries, and familiarity with Azure MLOps, you're ready to make AI-related architectural decisions for key product features. Most importantly, you are excited to be part of a mission-oriented high-growth startup that can create a lasting impact.


You will

  • Conceptualise, develop, and deploy ML models.
  • Make AI-related architectural decisions for key product features.
  • Lead the processing and analysis of large, complex datasets (structured, semi-structured, and unstructured), and use your findings to inform the development of our models.
  • Work across the complete lifecycle of ML model development, including problem definition, data exploration, feature engineering, model training, validation, and deployment.
  • Implement A/B testing and other statistical methods to validate the effectiveness of models. Ensure the integrity and robustness of ML solutions by developing automated testing and validation processes.
  • Fine-tune LLMs to improve their ability to perform specific tasks.
  • Translate user feedback into product updates/features.
  • Be part of planning core product roadmap and strategy with the founders.


You have

  • Proven industry experience in building and deploying production-level ML models.
  • Proficiency in Python and experience with ML libraries.
  • Proficiency in API development.
  • Familiarity with Azure and experience with Azure MLOps.
  • Experience fine-tuning and benchmarking LLMs/foundation models.
  • Deep understanding of retrieval, ranking, and reinforcement learning, and experience in how to build and apply them in software applications.
  • Shipped high-quality code and products that use LLMs and foundation models.
  • Excellent skills in data processing (SQL, ETL, data warehousing) and experience working with data systems.
  • Good understanding of software development principles, data structures, and algorithms.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a strong capacity for logical thinking.
  • The ability to work collaboratively in an extremely fast-paced, startup environment.
