Job Description: Head of Department of Marketing and Associate Professor
Pune Institute of Business Management
Location: Pune, Maharashtra, India
Overview: Pune Institute of Business Management (PIBM) is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to lead its Department of Marketing as Head and serve as an Associate Professor. This role combines academic leadership with teaching responsibilities, focusing on grooming future marketing professionals through innovative pedagogy and practical industry exposure.
Responsibilities:
- Academic Leadership:
- Provide visionary leadership to the Department of Marketing, aligning with PIBM's strategic goals.
- Develop and update curriculum in line with industry trends and academic standards.
- Foster a culture of research, innovation, and continuous improvement among faculty and students.
- Teaching and Learning:
- Deliver engaging lectures and seminars in marketing subjects to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Mentor students and supervise their projects, ensuring academic and professional growth.
- Utilize diverse teaching methodologies, including case studies, simulations, and industry collaborations.
- Student Development:
- Guide students in career planning, internships, and placement activities.
- Organize workshops, guest lectures, and events to enhance students' practical skills and industry exposure.
- Encourage participation in national and international marketing competitions.
- Research and Publications:
- Conduct and publish high-quality research in reputable journals, contributing to the academic reputation of PIBM.
- Encourage faculty and students to undertake research projects aligned with contemporary marketing issues.
- Industry Engagement:
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with industry partners, fostering collaboration opportunities for students and faculty.
- Organize industry visits, seminars, and conferences to bridge the gap between academia and industry.
- Administration and Coordination:
- Oversee the administrative functions of the Department, including scheduling, budget management, and resource allocation.
- Collaborate with other Heads of Departments and senior management to achieve institutional objectives.
Qualifications:
- PhD in Marketing or a closely related field from a recognized university.
- Minimum 8 years of teaching experience in a reputed business school, with significant exposure to marketing courses.
- Proven leadership skills with experience in academic administration preferred.
- Strong record of scholarly publications in peer-reviewed journals.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Industry experience or collaborations would be an added advantage.
