The Role
As a member of the Mainframe team at DXC, you'll tackle complex challenges and foresee potential issues across various mainframe service line components. You'll be at the cutting edge of technology and modernization, working with some of our largest global clients. Your role will involve managing client systems data, providing daily solutions, and ensuring security compliance. You'll handle a queue of tasks, collaborate directly with technicians, and prioritize tickets to deliver optimal solutions. We as part of the world's largest independent mainframe services provider, you'll have the opportunity to recommend modernization strategies, identify new business opportunities, and build relationships with other teams and stakeholders. Job Role:
Possesses expertise in mainframe automation technologies. Candidate will be responsible for the Management of Storage and related devices within a mainframe complex.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
The Automation Sysprog is responsible for research, analysis, documentation, and presentation of effective methods of consolidating various jobs/workflows/started tasks and automating them to prevent manual intervention from Operations.
Automation also provides recovery processes to support high availability initiatives.
The Automation analyst is responsible for evaluating and projecting impacts of actual or proposed changes in jobs codes wherever necessary or in the job scheduler. Ideally, the individual would benefit from understand processes from both the Infrastructure Operations Center, and the Lines of Business.
Skills required
- Installation, configuration, troubleshooting, support, and maintenance of IBM Z/OS Mainframe Automation products. Proactive automation solutions, including project lead. Client collaboration projects, and technical refresh. Innovative solution design.
- Testing, Change and Problem Management. Microsoft Office Suite, training/peering of graduates.
- Experience and Expertise on software migration and maintenance procedures - Install, backout, re-migration process.
- Experience and good exposure to unsupported, new features in the recent versions.
- Patching, testing, upgrades, installation. Coding for Z/OS, REXX, Tivoli Netview, Systems Automation for Z/OS, WAC ( IBM Worldwide Automation Configurator ) , COBOL, RPG, JCL, PROCS. Good overall knowledge in all facets of IT. Peer review of changes/projects. High scale automation of large mainframe-based enterprise.
