Roles and Responsibilities-


  • Manage overall installation, configuration and tuning of Spectrum Protect server (v8.x), client, Storage Agent, and Tivoli Data Protection software (Exchange, MS SQL, Hyper-V, Oracle)
  • Perform Spectrum Protect Server Management, Storage pool Management, Policy Management, Media management, Scheduling, Vault Management, SP reports, Virtual Tape library, Archive, SP Database management, Disaster Recovery Management, data deduplication, Tivoli Data Protection and Performance Tuning
  • Perform Spectrum Protect Server (Hardware) refresh, migration, upgrades, restore and recovery
  • Configure LAN-FREE backup
  • Worked with Spectrum Protect DRM and execution of DR plans.
  • Develop and maintain scripted and automated tools for management of the Backup environment.
  • Monitor health of Spectrum Protect servers and carry out routine activities like checking administrative schedules, checking activity logs
  • Process user requests for data backups and data restores via ticketing system.
  • Work with application and database teams as needed when resolving backup failures to ensure minimal application and business impact.
  • Work closely with OS and application teams
  • Continuously strive to make enhancements to the server environment, processes/procedures, and documentation.
  • Good Written and Verbal Communication
