In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and driving the automation strategy within the organization. This role involves leading a team of automation engineers and collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement and optimize automation solutions that meet business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the organization's automation strategy, aligning it with business objectives.
  • Lead the infrastructure automation team, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Develop and execute an automation strategy aligned with the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for automation and optimize infrastructure management.
  • Design, develop, and maintain automation scripts, workflows, and tools to streamline infrastructure management processes.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or similar.
  • Automate the provisioning, configuration, and management of cloud and on-premise infrastructure.
  • Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, or GCP, ensuring scalability, security, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with DevOps and engineering teams to integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Monitor and maintain infrastructure health, performance, and security through automated solutions.
  • Identify and implement best practices for infrastructure automation, focusing on reducing manual tasks and minimizing downtime.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for automation processes, tools, and infrastructure configurations.
  • Conduct regular reviews of automation tools and practices to ensure they meet current and future needs.
  • Work closely with developers, operations, and security teams to ensure alignment on automation initiatives.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts and automation strategies to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Act as a point of escalation for infrastructure-related issues that require automation expertise.

Qualifications we seek in you

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Good experience in automation engineering or a related field, with experience in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Proven experience in leading automation initiatives in cloud and on-prem environments.
  • Strong experience with automation tools like Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Deep understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.
  • Familiarity with configuration management, monitoring, and logging tools.

Preferred Qualifications/ Skills

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Leadership qualities, with a track record of successfully managing teams and projects.
  • Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Azure DevOps Engineer, Terraform Associate).
  • Experience with hybrid cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes and practices.
