Experience: 3-5 years of experience working with the ITC E-Choupal model and Amul’s cooperative model or similar platforms.


Job Summary:


We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Agronomist with expertise in both the ITC E-Choupal model and Amul’s dairy cooperative model. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in agronomy and hands-on experience in implementing agricultural and dairy initiatives. This role involves working closely with farmers, dairy producers, and various stakeholders to enhance agricultural productivity, improve milk production, and promote sustainable farming practices.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Field Operations Management:
  • Implement and manage the ITC E-Choupal model to optimize agricultural practices in the assigned regions.
  • Oversee dairy farming operations, ensuring the application of best practices for milk production, animal health, and feed management.
  • Conduct regular field visits to monitor crop and dairy farm conditions, provide agronomic and dairy advice, and ensure the effective adoption of recommended practices by farmers and dairy producers.


  • Farmer and Producer Engagement:
  • Organize and conduct training sessions for farmers and dairy producers on modern agricultural techniques, livestock management, and sustainable practices.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing among farmers and dairy producers to improve crop yields and milk production quality.
  • Address queries and provide technical support through the ITC E-Choupal platform and Amul’s cooperative network.


  • Data Collection and Analysis:
  • Collect and analyze field data related to crop performance, soil health, milk yield, and livestock health.
  • Use data-driven insights to make recommendations for improving agricultural and dairy practices.
  • Maintain accurate records of all field and dairy activities, and prepare detailed reports.


  • Sustainability and Innovation:
  • Promote sustainable agricultural and dairy practices, including soil conservation, water management, integrated pest management, and ethical animal husbandry.
  • Identify and introduce innovative farming and dairy techniques and technologies to enhance productivity and profitability.
  • Collaborate with research institutions, NGOs, and government agencies to implement pilot projects and scale successful initiatives in both agriculture and dairy sectors.


  • Market Access and Supply Chain Management:
  • Assist farmers and dairy producers in accessing better markets for their produce and milk by leveraging the ITC E-Choupal and Amul networks.
  • Work with procurement teams to ensure a smooth supply chain from farm to market.
  • Monitor market trends and advise farmers and dairy producers on the best times to sell their produce and milk.


Skills:


  • Strong knowledge of crop management, dairy farming, soil science, and sustainable practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work closely with farmers, dairy producers, and rural communities.
  • Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Experience in training and capacity building for farmers and dairy producers.
  • Familiarity with digital platforms and tools used in agriculture and dairy farming.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned regions.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in working with diverse crops, livestock, and dairy production systems.
  • Knowledge of local languages and dialects in the region of operation.
  • Understanding of rural market dynamics, supply chains, and cooperative structures
