Job Description:

Storage

  • Installation configuration and manage of the storage system at multiple data centers
  • Management of storage environment to maintain performance at desired optimum levels Development of storage management policy configuration and management of disk array SAN fabric switches NAS tape library etc
  • Configuration of SAN whenever a new application is hosted in the data center or at DR site
  • Storage array performance tuning as and when required
  • Design of storage arrays as per the best practices
  • Industry best practices in configuration of storage volume RAID configuration LUN zone security business continuity volumes NAS performance
  • Good understanding and working knowledge on DR related process and procedures
  • Preparation of Standard Operating Procedure SoP document for the storage administration
  • Working experience in 3par HPE Alletra MSA DELL Powerstore
  • Working on storage migration implementation and storage consolidation
  • Prepare Review RFP SoW for storage array related technology refreshments

Backup

  • Backup and restoration of operating system application databases and file system etc in accordance with defined processprocedurepolicy
  • Good working experience in Commvault Veritas Netbackup
  • Good working knowledge in HPE storeonce Netbackup appliance and MSL Tape library
  • Monitoring and enhancement of the performance of scheduled backups schedule regular testing of backups and ensure adherence to related retention policies
  • Ensuring prompt execution of ondemand backups and restoration of volumes files and database applications whenever required by user departments or in case of upgrades and configuration changes to the system
  • Realtime monitoring log maintenance and reporting of backup status on a regular basis
  • Prompt problem resolution in case of failures in the backup processes
  • Media management including but not limited to tagging crossreferencing storing both onsite and offsite logging testing and vaulting in fire proof cabinets
  • Performance analysis of infrastructure and rework of backup schedule for optimum utilization
  • Generation and publishing of backup reports periodically to each system department Manager and Director
  • Working with internal external audit teams for backup restoration testing
  • Recycling of offsite tapes from the offsite backup location as identified by NWC
  • TapeLTO library management loading and unloading tapes etc
  • Coordinating to retrieve offsite media for in the event of any disaster recovery
  • Forecasting tape requirements for backup
  • Ensuring failed backups are restarted and completed successfully within the backup cycle
  • Periodic restoration testing of the backup
  • Interacting with process owners in developingmaintaining backup restoration policiesprocedures
  • Guidesuggest NWC for improvementoptimization of the existing backuprestore policy
  • Backup of local servers at DR site and remote offices as per defined backup policies
  • Maintain log of backuprestoration
  • Updatemaintain Standard Operating Procedure SOP documents
