The Modernization Department is entrusted with the strategic responsibility of capex planning, implementing, and managing projects aimed at enhancing and upgrading organizational infrastructure and processes. As a key pillar of the organization, it spearheads initiatives to modernize facilities, technologies, and systems, aligning them with evolving business needs and industry standards.


Job Description/Job Responsibilities

Daily compilation of useful Business Information Resources such as market information digests, industry sector reports, media coverages tracking, ad spend data, company profiles, etc., using TACK’s rich Archival Collection as well as selected information sources tracked from various national dailies, magazines, global websites, etc., on a wide - range of subjects matching with BCCL Publishing activities. This position is directly responsible for fulfilling the various media industry specific ‘On-demand Business Information Services’’ as well as “Proactive Business Information Services’ requirements from our Colleagues across all branches, by compiling a range of business information resources, covering such as, current news and views, articles alert, brand ads, thematic information updates, market intelligence and consumer insights, sector trend reports, background information, personality profiles, etc., by reaching out to 1000s of The Times of India users, at all India level.


Key Responsibilities

Business Information Services (BIS): Responsible for providing and managing the day-to-day BIS operations by offering a range of Knowledge Based ‘Proactive Business Information Services’ as well as ‘On-Demand Business Information Services’ tailor-made to suit the information needs of The Times of India Users, mainly from VCO, Corporate Team, Brand Teams, Response, Brand Capital, RMD, Production, Legal Team and all Editorial functions, at the all India level.

Archival Operations: To assist the Dept. Head in managing the TAKC Team in the Archival Preservation Work of various BCCL Print Media Resources and offer a range of Business Information Services to internal as well as selectively to external users.

Archival Maintenance: To assist in making Strategic Plans, based on the directives of the Department Head in all TAKC Related Jobs / projects and review the outcome, periodically including MIS reporting and follow up. Also act as the in-charge of TAKC, in the absence of Dept. Head.


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Education

Education: MLIS (Master of Library & Information Science) OR MBA / PGDBM

  • Experience: 10 -15 years of experience in Corporate Knowledge Centre / Media Library or Archives or Consulting Firms ((with relevant experience in Business Information Research, Knowledge Management, Mass Media Data Compilation Services).
  • Skills: Planning and organizing, analytical thinking.
  • Abilities: Communication Skills, creative and innovating.
