About the role – Visual Designer(Intern)


Altoura is looking for a creative designer with a keen eye and an understanding of the latest graphic and user-interface trends. A solid understanding of typography, layout, motion and color theory is essential. Your work will have an emphasis on 2D graphics design but your average day in Altoura might also include work on 2D user interface.


We need someone who sees beyond pixels and designs with a purpose. Ability to view your design concepts through the lens of human factors and readability will be important as Altoura users span from small phones to desktop monitors to HMDs with various resolutions. You will work with the design, marketing and business stakeholders to drive the visual look and experience forward.


Responsibilities:


  • Create graphic materials that are required in the product to visually communicate features and modules of the product.
  • Create micro-animations to enhance user interactions.
  • You will work on the icon set for the product that aligns to our brand.
  • Work with other designers to update and maintain Altoura design system.
  • Enhance our visual design language.
  • Create 2D layouts and interface.
  • Support the product and marketing team with graphics, illustrations and animations across different channels.
  • You will need scheduling flexibility to collaborate with teams across different time zones.


Qualifications:


  • 0 to 2 years of work experience.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing your visual design work, illustrations and animations.
  • The ability to produce polished graphic design, demonstrated through examples.
  • Proficiency in Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects and Animate.
  • A solid understanding of color and typesetting, demonstrated through examples.
  • Good layout skills. Do you understand negative space?
  • Be a good forger. The ability to mimic an existing style and extend it so that there is consistency.
  • Effective communication skills. The ability to convey your design visually, verbally and in writing.
  • The ability to process feedback and quickly pivot design direction as needed.
  • You will have design revisions constantly and you will have to revise your designs quickly.


Bonus Experience:


  • Experience with creating content for game engines (Unity preferred) or websites.
  • Working knowledge 3D graphic design.
  • Experience with Accessibility Guidelines.
  • Previous AR/VR work experience.
