We are seeking a highly skilled Material Science Engineer to contribute to the development of advanced material identification systems through chemical composition analysis, spectrophotometry, and investigation of physical properties. The engineer will work closely with our AI and optical engineering teams to design systems that can accurately detect, classify, and differentiate materials. Your work will directly influence the performance and adaptability of our imaging systems across a wide range of applications.


Key Responsibilities:

● Analyze and characterize the chemical composition and physical properties of various materials using spectrophotometry and other analytical techniques.

● Develop methodologies to detect and classify materials based on their optical, chemical, and physical attributes.

● Collaborate with optical and AI engineers to design and optimize imaging systems that leverage material properties for improved identification accuracy.

● Conduct research on material interactions with illumination sources, such as light absorption, reflection, and transmission characteristics.

● Assist in selecting appropriate materials and coatings for optical components to enhance system performance.

● Utilize spectroscopy data to enhance AI models for material recognition, helping fine-tune algorithms based on material characteristics.

● Work on enhancing the device mechanism and system tuning based on the types of materials being handled.

● Provide insight into how different material compositions influence imaging system performance, proposing necessary design or software adjustments.

● Stay updated with the latest advancements in material science, spectrophotometry, and their applications in imaging technologies.

● Assist in developing testing protocols to evaluate material classification performance under various environmental and operational conditions.

● Provide technical support in troubleshooting issues related to material identification and system calibration.


Qualifications:

● Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Material Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.

● Strong knowledge of chemical composition analysis, spectrophotometry, and associated physical properties.

● Experience in applying material science principles to imaging, optical, or sensor systems.

● Familiarity with imaging technologies such as MSI (Multispectral Imaging) and HSI (Hyperspectral Imaging).

● Hands-on experience with spectroscopic tools and techniques for material analysis.

● Ability to interpret spectrophotometric data and correlate it with material properties for system tuning.

● Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on optimizing material detection mechanisms.

● Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail in working with complex material compositions.

● Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including optical, embedded systems, and AI engineers.
