POSITION OVERVIEW

The Director will be responsible for providing strategic and tactical leadership for supply chain transformation and resiliency initiatives across the line of business for Li-ion, Na ion, and Supercapacitors in addition to oversight and subject matter expertise on long-term agreements (LTA), strategic sourcing, and supplier development.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategic analysis of supply chains at key lines of business (sectors) across the battery material segment.
  • Development and execution of supplier development and LTA – focused on resiliency, total cost, and lead time reduction – in support of business needs.
  • Augment and support sector supply chain teams on tactical and strategic supplier engagements, identify opportunities, and drive continuous improvement and special projects.
  • Develop advanced competencies in strategic sourcing and materials functions primarily focused on developing innovative, efficient supply lines with competitive cycle time and best total cost in a global stakeholder system.
  • Assess, recommend, and implement improvements to systems and processes across the segment’s supply chain function in support of an efficient and high-performing supply chain.
  • Manage key relationships with internal and external stakeholders including senior leaders, functional peers, suppliers, and customers.
  • Implement and Manage SAP vendor and supply chain management.
  • Serve as a one-point contact for premium listed vendors to manage their onboarding, branding, and communication, marketing, pricing across all business units.
  • Develop policies, procedures, and systems of control relating to procurement.
  • To be involved in negotiations, selection of vendors, and contractual decision-making.
  • Identify and evaluate the vendors /suppliers for the projects.
  • Strategically source for vendors and suppliers for the projects.
  • Negotiate with the vendors/suppliers regarding the pricing and the contracts.
  • Source for new vendors and materials and set a standard benchmark
  • Support in preparing procurement strategy, tender, and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
  • Support in preparing and analyzing tenders & allocating work.
  • Analyse rates of different products and prepare comparative reports
  • Analyse project outcomes and write detailed progress reports, valuing completed work and arranging vendor bill certifications and payments.
  • Maintain a knowledge bank of the different contracts in current use.
  • Documentation requirements from project teams to other consultants within the project and contractors are complied with.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 15 years of prior related experience MBA in (Operations Management/Supply Chain Management)
  • The ideal candidate should be a senior procurement in dealing with material suppliers, and equipment manufacturers in the battery domain and would be dealing with players involved in electric vehicles.
  • Minimum 15 years of work experience, including a leadership position in a procurement role within multinational companies and Startups in India/Asia
