Tableau Server Administrator

Job Description

Summary

The Tableau Server Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining the Tableau Server environment, ensuring its availability, performance, security, and scalability. The Tableau Server Administrator also provides technical support and guidance to Tableau users, developers, and analysts, as well as collaborates with other IT teams to integrate Tableau with other data sources and platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, upgrade, and administer Tableau Server on Linux platforms
  • Administer the Linux VM on Google Cloud Platform
  • Manage the Tableau Server REST/HYPER API solutions created by Papa Johns
  • Deploy Tableau content such as new dashboards and new data sets
  • Manage Tableau Server subscriptions and mail server configurations
  • Monitor and optimize Tableau Server performance, reliability, and availability
  • Implement and enforce Tableau Server security policies and best practices
  • Govern Tableau Server users, groups, projects, permissions, and schedules
  • Perform backup and restore operations, as well as disaster recovery planning and testing
  • Troubleshoot and resolve Tableau Server issues and incidents
  • For the backend database behind Tableau, manage PostgreSQL access
  • Manage TSM Configuration settings to adjust for server level errors/issues
  • Provide technical support and training to Tableau users, developers, and analysts
  • D nowledge of Tableau Server architecture, components, and processes
  • Experience with Linux (Ubuntu or Debian preferre evelop and maintain Tableau Server documentation and standards
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate Tableau with other data sources and platforms
  • Stay updated with Tableau Server features, updates, and best practices

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
  • At least 3 years of experience in Tableau Server administration and support
  • Strong kd)
  • Proficient in Tableau Server installation, configuration, upgrade, and administration
  • Experience in Tableau Server performance tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting
  • Experience in Tableau Server security implementation and management
  • Experience in Tableau Server backup and restore operations, as well as disaster recovery planning and testing
  • Experience in providing technical support and training to Tableau users, developers, and analysts
  • Experience in integrating Tableau with other data sources and platforms
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
  • Certification in Tableau Server Administration or Development is a plus
