General Summary:

Qualcomm India is seeking a Storage & Backup IT Engineer, Staff with 10+ years of experience to oversee OneIT Storage and Backup Infrastructure operations which includes storage & backup like NetApp, Dell, Pure and Backup systems which includes Cohesity and Networker.

Job Description:
This person will be a member of a global 24/7/365 IT infrastructure operations team focused on enterprise Storage, backup and recovery who should possesses a strong understanding of IT fundamentals and has accumulated significant understanding and experience in Storage & Data Protection domain. Learns details of their technical area and analyzes variables to suggest modifications for improvement. Demonstrates technical skills required to complete complex tasks within area of responsibility and develops expertise outside of own area. 

Responsibilities:
• Supporting end-to-end storage activities, including but not limited to assisting NAS and SAN technologies like NetApp CDOT / EMC Isilon.
• Lead a small team of Storage and backup administrators, providing guidance
• Day-to-day operational tasks to support of our internal customers and external vendor partners. Strong troubleshooting skills along with coordination to fix and, track and report them to completion
• Collaborates with individuals inside own team and with other global IT teams to complete project work.
• Engages with immidiate management and key stakeholders to develop, implement, and manage support and operational objectives.
• Identify and incorporate future service management needs into a well-considered multi-year roadmap across the support areas.
• Identifies, constructs, and implements plans to remove friction in the day-to-day operation.
• Contributing towards Automation (new process / tech automation and fine tuning existing ones using Perl / Python or shell scripts).
• Contribute to Operation Reviews of IT services covering Customer Satisfaction, SLA performance, and Operational metrics.
• Producing regular and accurate service management reports and dashboards for the leadership team.
• Manage internal customer relationships with leaders across the technology organization.
• Thinks creatively and practically to develop, execute, and implement new plans or programs. Generates and provides accurate and timely results in the form of reports, presentations, etc
• Supports achievement of performance goals, budget goals, team goals, etc.
• Building the organizational capacity necessary to execute the strategy.
• Skilled in generating custom reports/dashboards and Knowledgebase documentation.

Prospective candidate should be technically sound in the following. 
• Working independently with minimum supervision.
• Have prior knowledge working in 24/7/365 IT infrastructure operation.
• Broad knowledge and understanding of different IT applications and infrastructure. 
• Strong analytical/problem solving skills, ability to provide alternatives, root cause analysis, testing skills and ability to make thoughtful proposals are also among the skills required
• Strong understanding of ITIL or similar service management process standards 
• Devops, s/w development and scripting
• Storage platforms: NetApp cluster mode, Dell Isilon and Pure Storage
• Backup and Recovery platforms: Cohesity Data Protect and Dell EMC Networker
• Tape libraries from vendors like Oracle and Spectra logic or similar
• Snapshot and Replication technologies: Snapmirrors/Snapvaults
• Disaster Recovery technologies: (Including Storage, Data Base and Server based systems and Disaster Recovery of Backup catalogs)
• Knowledge of storage and backup encryption technologies
• Knowledge of Ransomware data recovery technologies
• Knowledge on OS (Linux and/or Solaris)

Prospective candidates having following is an added advantage.
• Having excellent interpersonal skills will be critical for success: success depends on building rapport and credibility with multiple stakeholders across the organization.
• Track record with delivering high availability in complex, global environments.
• Have a wide degree of creativity and latitude to adjust to rapidly changing plans and circumstances.
• Experience working in a hybrid on-prem and public cloud environment.
• knowledge on Splunk queries and Splunk Dashboards
• Certifications from major vendors like NetApp, Dell and Cohesity.
• Any other skills that support storage and backup, not covered above.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 4+ years of IT-related work experience with a Bachelor's degree.
OR
7+ years of IT-related work experience without a Bachelor’s degree.

Physical Requirements:
• Frequently transports and installs equipment up to 20 lbs.
