IT Security Analyst 3 JobDescription Short Job DescriptionThe Security Analyst position works as a member of theVulnerability Management Team. The Senior Security Analyst positionreviews and remediates cyber incidents and vulnerabilities found byIT level analysts to IT security specialists and managers tomaintain the confidentiality integrity and availability of State ofMichigan data. Long Job DescriptionTechnical Security Analyst performing duties related tothe Vulnerability Management team. Plansschedules implements and maintains scalable vulnerability scansusing modern vulnerability management scanning tools for highcomplexity devices. While ensuring safe andtimely scanning that has minimal/no impact on scan targets providestroubleshooting of technical issues with scans. Supports vulnerability management scanning andreporting tools. Conducts internalvulnerability audits of servers network devices applications andother devices. Interfaces with internal andexternal auditors providing detailed information on remediationefforts. Creates integration ofvulnerability management data with other State of Michiganenterprise services. Conducts data analysisof vulnerability management data often integrated with other datasources to measure effectiveness of vulnerability remediation. Dataanalysis tasks include large datasets which include structuredsemistructured and unstructured data. Interfaces with other agencies to make recommendations on how toimprove the security posture and reduce the number of securityrelated vulnerabilities. Conducts trendanalysis creates dashboards using data scripting to provide metricson the performance of security responsibilities controls andcreates new reports for management based on those collected metricsacross multiple agencies.
