Job profile
As Project Lead (Mechanical) you are responsible for Design and Development of mining equipment and Collaborate with the division to Lead projects/Tasks and solve technical problems to meet EU and US standards. This job involves providing engineering support to various Divisions within Sandvik Mining in Current Product Engineering, New product Development Engineering and Order based Engineering activities.
The main responsibilities are as follows:
Coordinate and support the design & development of mining equipment from concept to production and testing. Manage Expectations on both sides and build relationship with stakeholders and the team. Utilize creative and conceptual thinking skills to solve technical problems, troubleshoot and achieve gains in product performance, cost, and reliability. Management of Projects/tasks schedule, budget, and quality requirements in alignment with division needs. Develop Overall Product Architecture, sub-system designs to meet Machine specification. Analyze, Document and Verify design of external partners, Process evolution & continuous improvement. Collaborate with Global Divisions and participate in web-based meetings and design reviews. Ensure Quality and Delivery of tasks as per Global Standards. Collaborate with product, sourcing & productions departments to understand their needs & propose possible solutions. Communicate results and ideas to key decision makers.Your profile
You have a university degree in Mechanical engineering / master’s in mechanical engineering (or equivalent) and between 7-10 years of experience into Mechanical Engineering Design and Development. You have the needed relevant experience as per the following
Describes Mechanical/Hydraulic systems in specific application areas. Selection and sizing of Mechanical/Hydraulic components. Performs Concept/ Detailed Design of Structures and Layout Performs analysis of Mechanical / hydraulic systems by hand calculation / FEA. Select Mechanical/powertrain components considering performance, cost, and service. Should be well accustomed to International standards (ISO), EN Should have knowledge of ISO drafting standards, welding and Machining standards, GD&T and their application. Should have basic knowledge of electro/mechanical, mechanical/hydraulic interfaces and systems. Exposure to, UG/NX Teamcenter integrated environment is an advantage. Good ability to work with a team and Good Interpersonal skills.You fit into a dynamic and fast-moving team within a business which has been around. You value the opportunity to work with both in-house R&D as well as with customers all around the world. You possess the ability to comprehend complex technical concepts quickly and focus on priorities. Experience in Heavy Mining equipment mechanical/hydraulic design space with exposure in heavy machinery industry is regarded as a merit. The ability to speak and write in English, as well as the willingness to travel, are prerequisites in this job.
