Job Summary
As Cloud Platform Engineer you will help build and evolve our software delivery practice by developing and simplifying processes, tooling, and automation as part of our overall engineering strategy. You will work alongside our architecture and engineering teams to both modernize our legacy applications and create net new cloud native applications and services, with the ultimate goal of reducing friction, improving quality, and delivering faster for our customers. You will engage in the development of infrastructure-as-code (IaC) projects, CI/CD pipeline automation, and integrating test practices into every phase of the development lifecycle. The successful candidate will possess strong technical and mentoring skills, with a history of delivering on complex technology initiatives.
Responsibilities
Enable product teams to deliver value to our customers by building tools, frameworks, automation and processes to streamline development and deployment workflows Build and evolve our cloud landing zone to make it easy to do the right thing, ensuring security, least privilege, limited blast radius, proper governance and autonomy. Ensure Security and Compliance: Work closely with the security and compliance teams to ensure that our systems adhere to industry best practices and regulatory requirements. Implement robust security measures to protect our systems and data from threats. Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to ensure successful delivery and operation of diverse systems at scale. Identify opportunities for improvement in current technology and that of individual systems. Avoid the creation of, quickly identify, and prioritize the remediation of technical debt.
Requirements
Familiarity with cloud architecture patterns, microservices, containers, and serverless computing. Experience with and understanding of DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, configuration management, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC). Experience in scripting or programming languages (PowerShell, Python, or similar) for automation and infrastructure management in AWS, as well as IAC like Terraform and CloudFormation Understanding of networking, security, and identity and access management (IAM) in cloud environments. Knowledge of cloud computing concepts, including expertise in designing cloud-based solutions using IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS models. Proficient in performing in-depth analysis, complex technical troubleshooting, and problem resolution Strong time management skills, ability to multi-task and perform well under pressure. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and meeting deadlines. Experience working within geographically distributed organizations. Professional written and interpersonal skills. AWS certifications (AWS Solution Architect, Developer, etc) are a plus, but not required.
Education/Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in information systems/technology, Computer Science, a related field in technical engineering, or equivalent experience 2-3 years of Platform, Cloud, Software Engineering or relevant technical experience, with a focus on AWS.
