We are seeking a skilled Microsoft SQL Developer and Administrator with a strong foundation in database administration, design, development, and complex query preparation and optimization. In addition, you should have a basic understanding of Power BI and the ability to create modelling for dashboards and optimization. You should be comfortable in administering SQL databases for business applications, testing and validating the numbers for dashboards. Other than that, experience with Azure and SSIS technologies to enhance the data pipeline and cloud-based solutions is also something you should be familiar with.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing and maintaining SQL scripts and complex queries for data extraction. Developing stored procedures and functions to generate various drill-through reports, matrix reports through SSRS and generate various views to support business requirements.
  • Optimizing database performance through indexing, query tuning and data modelling. Working closely with Finance function to enhance existing tools and data architecture supporting reporting.
  • Translating business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Collaborating with business users to understand data requirements and translate them into effective database solutions.
  • Performing thorough testing of Power BI dashboards to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and performance.
  • Developing and maintaining data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, SSIS and ETL.
  • Migrating existing data workloads to Azure Cloud platforms.
  • Optimizing data pipelines for performance and scalability.
  • Identifying and resolving data quality issues and inconsistencies.
  • Working closely with the reporting team to ensure data integration and alignment with business requirements.
  • Staying up to date with the latest SQL, Power BI technologies and best practices.

In addition to SQL development, you would also perform database administration tasks, such as:

  • Managing SQL server databases for critical applications, configuring and maintaining database servers and processes and monitoring system’s health and performance.
  • Ensuring high levels of performance, availability, sustainability and security.
  • Analyzing, solving and correcting issues in real-time.
  • Managing database consistency between DC and DR environments via RHA technology.
  • Refining and automating regular processes, track issues, and document changes.
  • Performing scheduled maintenance and support release development activities after business hours.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5+ years of working experience in similar role.
  • Proven experience in SQL development, including writing complex queries, stored procedures, and functions.
  • Experience in managing and administering SQL databases in a business-critical environment.
  • Strong understanding of database design principles and normalization.
  • Knowledge in Power BI, including data modelling and optimization.
  • Experience with Azure cloud platform and Azure Data Factory or SSIS.
  • Experience in testing and validating data-driven applications.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with data warehousing and ETL processes.
  • Understanding of Agile development methodologies.
