PrimaryResponsibilities

MarketingManagement

  • Develops apublic relations program for the hotel based on its marketinggoals. Liaises with Marketing in targeting specific markets anddeveloping the public relations strategies to reach thesemarkets
  • Develops media contacts plans pressconferences and other press activities. Acts as hotels liaison withmedia to promote good publicity and counteract badpublicity.
  • Develops and organizes promotionalactivities coordinates with departments concerned; invites VIPs andmedia to promotional activities; prepares and issues pressreleases
  • Establishes sales leads from the studyof magazines newspapers and form personal contacts; coordinatessales leads with Banqueting and SalesDepartments
  • Disseminates corporate pressreleases to appropriate local trade and consumermedia
  • Establishes a program for sendingpromotional news to trade publications on a regular basis releasescovering special events promotionsetc.
  • Prepares promotional press releases onpersonalities among guests and employees of the hotel and onnewsworthy events in the hotel
  • Providesinformation to other departments on activities within and outsidethe hotel which may be useful when dealing withguests
  • Accepts clients and media complaintsrequests and inquiries and coordinates handling with departmentsconcerned
  • Coordinates all activities with theSales Manager
  • Maintains good public relationsby extending personalized service to VIPs. e.g. following up onreservations for VIPs assisting in greeting VIPs and groups upontheir arrival sending welcome letter to VIPguests
  • Coordinates guest lists and invitationsfor VIP receptions luncheons dinnersetc.
  • Maintains clipping files pertaining to thehotel(s) based on daily perusal of the media and provides same toGeneral Manager other departments other hotels corporate publicrelations as appropriate
  • Maintains mailinglist/contact file
  • Maintains hotel photofile
  • Liaises with Human Resource Manager onmatters affecting corporate image
  • Develop hotelgifts and giveaways
  • Builds profile within localmarket place through attendance at various events and local marketplace
  • Coordinates hotel photography whenrequired
  • Monitors awareness of competitoractivities and use information when developingstrategies
  • Plans and coordinates sponsorshipactivities.
  • To supervise the maintenance of amailing list consisting of a record of former and existing clientsof the hotel.
  • To organize regular visits byprofessional persons from the media and members of the trade to thehotel.
  • To present a summary of visits to theGeneral Manager and Director of Sales & marketing on aregular basis.
  • To attend all official functionsas a representative of the hotel.
  • To greet allVIP guests of the hotel.
  • To ensure thatstationary and printed items are standardized and conforms to theGRAND MERCURE standards.
  • To closely coordinatesocial events in the hotel.
  • To closely observematters pertaining to PR activities of the hotel and other hotels(competitors) on a regularbasis.

TeamManagement

  • Interviewselect and recruit direct reports 
  • Identify and develop team memberswith potential
  • Conduct performance review withthe team
  • Constantly monitor team membersappearance attitude and degree ofprofessionalism
  • Develop conduct maintain allstaff training programs for team members focusing on theirdevelopment needs providing them with new skills to meet thechanging needs of thebusiness

OtherResponsibilities

  • Attendall briefings meetings and trainings as assigned bymanagement
  • Maintain a high standard of personalappearance and hygiene at all times
  • Be aware ofthe hotel fire & life safety/emergencyprocedures
  • Perform other reasonable dutiesassigned by the assigned by theManagement

  • Definesprecise guest requirements and ensures that the guest servicesoffered corresponds effectively to theirrequests

  • Diplomain Marketing / Communications
  • Minimum of 2years of experience in a similar capacity with proven trackrecords
  • Excellent reading writing and verbalproficiency in English language
  • Proficient inMS Excel Word &PowerPoint
