Overview:The IBM HPCand Spectrum Symphony Engineer plays a crucial role in designingimplementing and maintaining highperformance computing (HPC)solutions utilizing IBM Spectrum Symphony. This individual isresponsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the HPCenvironment optimizing performance and collaborating withcrossfunctional teams to meet the organizations computationalneeds.KeyResponsibilities:
  • Designing deployingand managing IBM HPC clusters and associatedinfrastructure.
  • Configuring and optimizing IBMSpectrum Symphony for largescale parallel computingworkloads.
  • Monitoring system performance andcapacity planning for HPC resources.
  • Developingand implementing automation scripts for repetitive tasks usingscripting languages.
  • Collaborating withapplication and infrastructure teams to integrate HPC technologyinto business solutions.
  • Providing technicalsupport and troubleshooting assistance for HPC and SpectrumSymphonyrelated issues.
  • Performing routinemaintenance and applying updates to HPCsystems.
  • Participating in disaster recoveryplanning and for HPC infrastructure.
  • Conductingperformance tuning and optimization of HPC applications andworkflows.
  • Documenting HPC architectureprocesses and procedures.
RequiredQualifications:
  • Bachelors degree inComputer Science Engineering or a relatedfield.
  • Proven experience in designing anddeploying IBM HPC clusters and Spectrum Symphonysolutions.
  • Demonstrated expertise in systemsadministration and optimization of HPCenvironments.
  • Familiarity with parallel filesystems and storage technologies.
  • Proficiencyin performance tuning and optimization of HPCapplications.
  • Strong scripting skills withlanguages such as Python Bash or Perl.
  • Abilityto work collaboratively in a crossfunctional teamenvironment.
  • Excellent troubleshooting andproblemsolving abilities related to HPCsystems.
  • Good understanding of networkingconcepts and technologies.
  • Strong written andverbal communication skills.
