Associate Lead - Business Intelligence

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Lead with expertise in Business Intelligence Engineering (BIE) support. This person will be responsible for Designing, Building, and Deploying BI Solutions  to ensure efficient resolution of support tickets and effective execution of engineering tasks.

 

Responsibilities·  

  • Managing the Support operation team that focuses on Tier 1 – 4 escalation issues.
  • Expert working knowledge of T-SQL, data warehousing and data management concepts.      
  • Expert working knowledge in Azure ecosystems like data bricks, ADF, Power Automate and reporting technologies like SSRS and Power BI.
  • Designing, building, and deploying BI Solutions. Developing complex visual reports, dashboards and KPI scorecards using Power BI desktop.· 
  • Expert working knowledge of performance monitoring, file-tuning, and optimization of Dashboards, understanding of Power BI security implementations.·
  • Managing Services Support team that serves as the first line of support for thousands of downstream data and reporting consumers & performing initial triage and troubleshooting of incidents, along with monitoring; ensuring the quality and timeliness of the root cause analysis (RCA) process.·      
  • Responsible for managing a team comprising highly capable Engineer I and Engineer II Levels.·   
  • Providing technical direction, guidance and escalation related to incidents.
  • Communicating results and findings to impacted users, including senior leadership.
  • Lead in understanding and analysis of frequent issues, their impact and recommend actionable steps.
  • Supporting Senior BIE leaders in ad-hoc projects. Collaborating with teams to integrate systems.·
  • Expert in building quick POCs (proof of concepts) around newer more effective technologies for the team.·      
  • Documenting development efforts as required by change management practices.·      
  • Implementing the best practices and coding standards of the project.·      
  • Expert working knowledge of Agile development methodologies.     

    

Skills Required·       

Business Intelligence (BI) Tools Proficiency: Tech-Lead should be proficient in a variety of BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, QlikView, or others. This includes the ability to design, develop, and optimize reports and dashboards.

Data Modeling and Architecture: A strong understanding of data modeling principles and data architecture is crucial. Tech-Lead should be able to design and implement effective data models that support the reporting and analytics needs.·        

SQL and Database Knowledge: Proficiency in SQL for extracting, transforming, and loading (ETL) data from various sources into the BI system. A solid understanding of relational databases and data warehouses is also important.·        

Analytical Skills: Tech-Lead should have strong analytical skills to interpret data, identify trends, and derive meaningful insights. This involves the ability to work with complex datasets and the ability to drive meaningful story out of the data.·        

Project Management: Demonstrate effective project management skills and need to oversee the end-to-end development and implementation of BI solutions. This includes planning, resource allocation, and ensuring that projects are delivered on time.·        

Communication and Stakeholder Management: Need to translate technical concepts into understandable insights for non-technical stakeholders. Demonstrate effective communication that fosters collaboration and ensures that BI solutions align with business goals.·        

Team Leadership and Mentorship: This includes providing direction, setting goals, and fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment. Additionally, the ability to mentor team members and facilitate knowledge transfer is crucial for long-term success.

Continuous Learning and Adaptability: Tech lead should have a strong commitment to continuous learning and staying abreast of industry trends. Being proactive in seeking out new information, attending conferences, participating in online forums, and engaging in professional development activities. Be available to work in a flexible IST/EST/CST time zone.
