ENGIE employs 97300 people worldwide.Purpose of the JobThe Head of Business Development with Engie plays a pivotal role in shaping the company's growth trajectory and commercial success in compliance with existing Business Development procedure, strategy, and Group's investment criteria in the geography.It will involve finalising partnership structure in accordance with the group guidelines, finalise Land aggregation process for Solar projectsKey Accountabilities / deliverablesNegotiate commercial and technical aspects of contracts with clients and suppliersThorough understanding of connectivity regulations, land acquisition and regulatory frameworks in select states and have experience of handling end-to-end Land acquisitionMonitor regulatory compliance and manage commercial risksIn-depth knowledge of land laws and connectivity regulations in Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu etc.In-depth knowledge of project development processes, including site selection, permitting, and construction within the solar / wind / other RE projects.Effective communication and negotiation abilities to work with stakeholders at all levelsAbility to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and build positive relationships with external stakeholders;Willingness to extensively travel and temporarily base within the assigned regions to ensure timely aggregation of targeted land parcels.StrategicLead a team of developers in business development activities in renewables together with a team handling related commercial functions like procurement and pre development activities including site permitting.Maintain in depth knowledge of all ongoing Business Development activities and regulatory space in India through active engagement with various stakeholders in the countryCoordinate the production of Business Development documentationAttend different investment committees in the region to create the buy-in for the projects being developed in IndiaSelection and high-level management of partners, contractors, customers, off-takers, regulators, suppliers, and other project stakeholdersOrganize local Business Development meetings to create a communityInternal documentation and approvals of projectsEnsure compliance and contribute to the smooth approval processReview, validate and signoff all Business Development projects documentationPresent and defend project on behalf of India at AMEA and Group levelPost FC or close of acquisition, organize handoverAnalyze and present business/project loss case and draw conclusions and learning for future. developmentOperationalDeliver on the renewable growth objectives assigned for IndiaIdentify, screen and evaluate Business Development opportunitiesUndertake pre development activities leading to successful originationActively monitor regulatory space to capture evolving opportunities beyond large scale auctionsSupervise business development activitiesLead preparation and presentation of Business Development documentation in various Business Development meetingsEnsure attendance of self and Business Development team in all Business Development related activities in IndiaIncorporation of feedback from projects under implementationContribute to preparation of periodic lookbacksOrganize Business Development meetings to perform reviewsSchedule and maintain periodic communication with Head of Business Development -AMEA, on all India Business Development activitiesOrganizational Contribute to preparation of periodic lookbacksOrganize and have Business Development meetings to perform reviewsEnsure timely and adequate reporting at AMEA and at Group levelOrganize and follow up ad-hoc auditsBuild a strong and cohesive leadership team and maintain a high-performance cultureCreate opportunities for employee mobilityBuild company image by collaborating with customers, government, community organizations, and employees, enforcing ethical business practicesPlanning & Delivery of WorkContribute to the yearly budget development plan (CAPEX, manpower and development budget)Plan and organize work to meet individual, team and departmental objectives whilst achieving quality and value for moneyDeliver key objectives and obtain and allocate resourcesLead by example in managing business relationships and project / program risksDefine a balanced set of targets and measures aligned with delivery plansWorking with Others Take responsibility to build and maintain positive relationships and value the opinion of othersDevelop relationships with partner/stakeholders ensuring that Engie India is a respected customer and providerCreate an environment to deliver shared policy outcomes on the groundLobby partners / stakeholders to achieve outcomesInfluence positively, the external partners / stakeholders relevant to our businessQualificationsBachelor's Degree in Economics, Finance or EngineeringMBA preferredExperience Level:18+ yearsBusiness Unit: GBU Renewables & Flexible Power Division: REN AMEA -
