Cybersecurity Engineer

Description -

Applies advanced PKI subject matter knowledge to solve complex business issues and is regarded as a subject matter expert. Frequently contributes to the development of new ideas and methods. Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors. Provides expertise to functional project teams and will participate in cross-functional initiatives across HP. Frequently represents Cyber IAM organization to internal customers and HP suppliers. Exercises significant independent judgment within broadly defined policies and practices to determine the best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives.

Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of PKI-related projects within the HP Cyber IAM team.
• Proactively manage HP PKI ticketing queue, to assist our consumers (Internal HP, and Partners)
• Analyzes vulnerabilities, attacks, or threats to determine risk and, adversary intent, and prioritize mitigation or response.
• Owns resolution of HP security issues related to security vulnerabilities related to PKI, incidents, and threats.
• Recommends and coordinates the development, enhancement, organization, and maintenance of HP's PKI, and SSL automation security solutions, including research and security system analysis.Contributes HP's security response, threat, and resolution knowledge base by aggregating and incorporating the analyses/outputs of security professionals.

Knowledge and Technical Skills:

• Experience with PKI vending, and SSL automation.
• Experience with MPKI, and various vendors that provide vending and MPKI services.
• In-depth Cyber and IT security knowledge.
• In-depth understanding of Cyber and IT security risks, threats, and prevention measures.
• In-depth security system analysis skills.
• In-depth understanding of security standards and best practices, especially when related to PKI
• Appreciated: Understanding of networking and network security.
• Appreciated: Understanding of network monitoring and protocols.
• Appreciated: Understanding of relevant programming and scripting languages (Perl, python, PowerShell, HTML, JavaScript, etc.).
• Appreciated: Understanding of one or more of the following:
  • Off-the-shelf vulnerability assessment products and tools.
  • Network security devices (firewalls, proxies, NIDS/NIPS, etc.).
  • Platform and application-layer penetration testing techniques.
  • Adversary techniques, tactics, protocols, and related countermeasures.
  • Network security monitoring.
  • Digital Forensics.

Soft Skills:

• An independent worker with an internal HP consumer-focused team player mindset.
• Demonstrated excellent oral and written English communication skills.
• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Proven abilities in problem management and process analysis.
• Ability to create, manage and enhance HP service consumer relationships.
• Record of taking ownership of issues and following through to resolution.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's or equivalent experience, preferably in computer science, PKI engineering, or a related area of study.
• Technical Cyber Security Certifications are appreciated.
• Typically, 6+ years of relevant experience.
