Role Overview

As an Accounting & Finance Intern, you will work alongside our finance team to support both internal operations and client-facing projects. This internship offers a hands-on introduction to the accounting workflows, reporting standards, and financial processes used in professional services firms supporting SMEs and startups.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing and reviewing client accounting records (e.g. general ledger, trial balance, management reports)
  • Support month-end closing activities, including bank and account reconciliations
  • Perform data entry of transactions and journal postings into accounting software (e.g. Xero, QuickBooks, Zoho Books)
  • Help compile supporting schedules for GST filings, payroll summaries, and basic tax computations
  • Participate in audit preparation tasks such as organizing documents and reviewing control checklists
  • Assist with internal finance tasks like budgeting, expense tracking, or invoice processing
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance with firm SOPs and client-specific requirements
  • Attend internal briefings, training sessions, and contribute to process improvement efforts

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing CA or a degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables); exposure to cloud accounting software is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and interest in real-world accounting practices
  • Good communication and time management skills
  • Ability to work responsibly with confidential data and deadlines
  • Eagerness to learn in a fast-paced, client-focused environment
