Job Purpose:

The Production Manager will oversee and manage the entire production process of duct manufacturing in the HVAC unit, ensuring timely delivery, quality compliance, cost control, and efficient resource utilization. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and experience in sheet metal fabrication and duct production processes.

Key Responsibilities: Production Management:

  • Plan, organize, and manage day-to-day duct manufacturing operations.
  • Ensure production targets are achieved within defined timelines and budgets.
  • Optimize machine and manpower utilization to minimize downtime and wastage.
  • Implement production schedules and monitor progress against targets.

Quality & Compliance:

  • Ensure ducts are manufactured as per SMACNA, DW144, or IS standards.
  • Coordinate with the quality team to maintain high product quality and adherence to ISO standards.
  • Identify and resolve quality issues at the root cause to prevent reoccurrence.

Process & Resource Management:

  • Oversee sheet metal cutting, bending, assembly, and finishing operations.
  • Maintain proper stock levels of raw materials (GI sheets, aluminum sheets, consumables, etc.).
  • Implement lean manufacturing, 5S, and Kaizen practices to improve efficiency.
  • Control production costs and reduce scrap/rework.

Team Leadership:

  • Supervise production staff, including supervisors, operators, and helpers.
  • Provide training, skill development, and performance feedback to the team.
  • Ensure workplace safety, discipline, and compliance with factory rules.

Coordination & Reporting:

  • Liaise with planning, purchase, stores, and dispatch departments for smooth workflow.
  • Report daily, weekly, and monthly production performance to management.
  • Coordinate with project/site teams for urgent requirements.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of duct manufacturing processes (shearing, plasma cutting, bending, forming, flange fixing, sealing, insulation, etc.).
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD drawings and duct fabrication layouts.
  • Experience in handling modern duct manufacturing machinery (plasma cutting, TDF roll forming, lock forming, etc.).
  • Good leadership, team management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong focus on productivity, quality, and safety.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and production planning techniques.

Educational & Experience Requirements:

  • Diploma / B.Tech in Mechanical / Production Engineering (preferred).
  • 8–12 years of experience in HVAC duct manufacturing, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial role.

Pay: ₹25, ₹40,000.00 per month
