Purpose of the Role:

The Junior Accountant will ensure the smooth functioning of the accounting processes by maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and supporting compliance with statutory regulations. This role involves utilizing ERP systems for financial data management and contributing to the company's financial reporting and analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Transactions and Record Keeping

  • Manage daily accounting activities, including journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and reconciliations.
  • Maintain timely and accurate financial records.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and ad-hoc reports.

2. ERP Systems Management

  • Operate and maintain ERP systems for processing financial data.
  • Generate and analyze reports using ERP tools.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial data.

3. Accounts Payable/Receivable Management

  • Process invoices and payments in compliance with company policies.
  • Reconcile customer and supplier accounts to maintain financial accuracy.

4. Taxation and Compliance

  • Support GST filings, TDS payments, and other statutory compliance activities.
  • Assist during internal and external audits.

5. Reporting and Analysis

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports for management review.
  • Contribute to budgeting and forecasting processes.

6. Inventory and Cost Accounting

  • Understand inventory valuation methods, perform stock reconciliations, and participate in cycle counts.
  • Apply basic cost accounting principles, including material cost, labor cost, and overhead allocation.

Desired Candidate Profile:

Required Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting, preferably with exposure to ERP systems.

Required Education:

  • MBA in Finance or a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field.

Certifications:

  • ERP Certification (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Tally) is preferred but not mandatory.

Technical Skills:

  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Mandatory Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
  • Working knowledge of ERP tools like SAP, Oracle, or Tally.
  • Basic understanding of financial regulations and compliance (GST, TDS).

Nice-to-Have Technical Skills:

  • Familiarity with budgeting and forecasting techniques.
  • Experience in inventory management software.

Soft Skills:

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
