Job Description:

We are seeking a technically capable and customer-oriented engineer to support our Managed File Transfer (MFT) and light data transformation initiatives. This role will work closely with business teams to gather requirements, diagram workflows, and deliver scalable solutions for secure file movement and automation using AWS-native technologies. The ideal candidate will have strong technical acumen, experience with AWS services (including Lambda and Fargate), and be proficient in Python development for automation and lightweight ETL tasks. They should demonstrate a proactive mindset, a willingness to learn and adopt new tools and platforms as needed, and an ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Familiarity with containerized runtimes, workflow visualization tools (e.g., ), and secure file transfer patterns will be essential to success in this role. 

Mandatory Skills & Qualifications 

Proficient in Python for scripting, light ETL tasks, and automation 

Experience working with AWS services such as Lambda, Fargate, ECS, IAM, and CloudWatch 

Familiarity with SFTP tools such as WinSCP or FileZilla 

Ability to create clean, modular, and maintainable code 

Strong understanding of secure file movement (e.g., SFTP, SMB, or API-based transfer patterns) 

Understanding of file-based encryption techniques using tools like PGP or equivalent technology 

Capable of diagramming solutions and workflows using tools like or Lucidchart 

Excellent communication skills and a customer service mindset when engaging with business teams 

Ability to analyze and interpret requirements, and translate them into technical designs 

Comfortable operating in Linux-based environments and containerized runtimes 

Self-motivated, curious, and able to learn new technologies with minimal handholding 

Must have a sense of humor 

Preferred Qualifications 

Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or AWS CDK 

Familiarity with AWS Transfer Family, EventBridge, and Step Functions 

Prior work involving MFT, data pipelines, or lightweight ETL processes 

Understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and Git-based workflows 

Exposure to compliance-aware systems (e.g., HIPAA, SOX, or similar controls) 

Previous experience working in a cross-functional team environment (business + tech) 

Experience with logging, monitoring, and alerting best practices 

Experience integrating with APIs (REST, SOAP) for external system communication 

Knowledge of secure credential management and encryption patterns (e.g., KMS, secrets managers)
