Inviting applications for the role of Principal Consultant - MSSQL, Sybase Database Administrator

In this role, you will manage and optimize Sybase and MSSQL database environments, ensuring high availability, security, and performance. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and stakeholders, to deliver robust database solutions that support critical business applications and strategic objectives.
Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Sybase ASE and Microsoft SQL Server databases.

• Design and implement scalable, secure database architectures for enterprise applications.

• Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and views.

• Perform performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization for Sybase and MSSQL.

• Monitor database health, troubleshoot issues, and resolve performance bottlenecks.

• Implement and manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.

• Ensure compliance with security protocols, including access control and encryption.

• Plan and execute database migrations, upgrades, and patching.

• Collaborate with application teams for schema design and integration.

• Automate routine tasks using scripting languages (e.g., Shell, Python).

Qualifications we seek in you
Minimum Qualifications
· BE/ B Tech/ MCA

Preferred Qualifications/ Skills
· Strong experience as a Sybase ASE DBA and MSSQL DBA in production environments.
· Proficient in writing and optimizing SQL queries for both Sybase and MSSQL.
· Hands-on experience with performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting.
· Knowledge of high availability solutions (e.g., clustering, replication, log shipping).
· Familiarity with ETL tools and data warehousing concepts.
· Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Sybase Control Center, SQL Server Management Studio).
· Knowledge of scripting languages for automation (Shell, Python).
· Azure database services knowledge (Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Factory) is a strong plus.
· Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
