Job Title: Senior Cloud Engineer

Role Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Public Cloud Engineer with 12+ years of experience and extensive hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise-scale public cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and/or GCP. This role focuses on end-to-end cloud lifecycle management, including architecture design, IaC-based deployments, operational maintenance, and optimization for security, scalability, and reliability.

The candidate will be responsible for driving cloud adoption, operational excellence, and platform standardization while maintaining and evolving existing cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Cloud Architecture Design

2. Design enterprise-grade cloud architectures covering compute, storage, networking, security, and identity.

3. Define landing zones, multi-region deployments, hub-and-spoke topologies, and multi-account/subscription strategies.
4. Translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and highly available cloud solutions.

5. Produce detailed design documentation, architecture diagrams, and implementation guides.

6. Implementation & Deployment

7. Lead the end-to-end implementation of public cloud infrastructure using IaC: Terraform, CloudFormation, Azure Bicep, Pulumi.

8. Deploy cloud resources: VMs, containers, serverless, storage, databases, networking, IAM policies, and security configurations.
9. Integrate cloud services with on-prem systems, SaaS solutions, and hybrid environments.
10. Implement CI/CD pipelines for automated provisioning, testing, and deployment of cloud resources.

11. Ensure deployments meet security, compliance, and operational standards.

12. Maintenance & Operational Management

13. Maintain and manage existing cloud environments for availability, performance, and cost optimization.

14. Implement automated monitoring, logging, alerting, and remediation for cloud resources.
15. Conduct infrastructure health checks, patching, updates, and capacity planning.
16. Resolve cloud performance, availability, and operational issues in a timely manner.

17. Apply best practices for backup, disaster recovery, and failover.

18. Infrastructure as Code (IaC) & Automation

19. Design and maintain IaC frameworks and reusable modules for repeatable deployments.

20. Implement policy-as-code and compliance-as-code controls within IaC pipelines.
21. Automate infrastructure lifecycle management, including provisioning, updates, scaling, and decommissioning.

22. Perform IaC code reviews, versioning, testing, and CI/CD integration.

23. Cloud Security & Governance

24. Implement cloud security controls: IAM, encryption, secrets management, network security, and access policies.

25. Integrate security and compliance standards directly into IaC pipelines.
26. Collaborate with security teams for audit readiness, regulatory compliance, and secure-by-default deployments.

27. Maintain and monitor policy enforcement, logging, and anomaly detection across cloud environments.

28. Networking & Connectivity

29. Implement complex cloud networking solutions: VPC/VNet design, peering, transit hubs, private endpoints, and hybrid connectivity (VPN, Direct Connect, ExpressRoute).

30. Configure load balancers, DNS, firewall policies, and micro-segmentation.

31. Integrate networking automation into IaC pipelines for repeatable and scalable deployments.

32. Observability, Reliability & Optimization

33. Implement monitoring, alerting, and logging frameworks for operational visibility.

34. Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and auto-scaling for cloud workloads.
35. Optimize cloud performance, cost, and resource utilization.
36. Conduct proactive infrastructure tuning, fault testing, and resiliency validation.

Requirements

Required Technical Skills:

• Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, and/or GCP at enterprise scale.
• Advanced IaC experience: Terraform, CloudFormation, Azure Bicep, Pulumi.
• Strong experience with compute, storage, databases, serverless, containers (Kubernetes, AKS/EKS/GKE).
• Deep networking knowledge: VPC/VNet, VPN, Direct Connect, ExpressRoute, transit hubs, load balancers.
• Cloud security expertise: IAM, encryption, key management, secrets management, policy-as-code.
• CI/CD and automation pipelines: GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI, Jenkins.
• Scripting skills: PowerShell, Python, Bash.
• Experience with hybrid cloud and multi-cloud integrations, operational monitoring, and incident response.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Experience implementing enterprise landing zones and reference architectures (AWS Control Tower, Azure Enterprise-Scale, GCP Foundation).
• Familiarity with DevSecOps, automated compliance, and security-as-code frameworks (OPA, Sentinel, Conftest).
• FinOps and cost optimization expertise.
• Cloud certifications: AWS Solutions Architect – Professional, Azure Architect Expert, GCP Professional Cloud Architect.
