Job description:

  • Looking for a highly experienced and motivated individual, specializing in Life legacy systems with strong insurance domain knowledge and technical expertise in SMART400/COBOL400 to support business and product development in LifeAsia. As an application consultant, you will be required to work individually with our backend development team, understand architectural designs, collaborate on overall decisions and directions with multiple stakeholders (IT, third party vendors, various discipline leads, business team and management office) and ensure the delivery of high-quality and scalable solutions for insurance product/s and related BAU enhancements, while aligning to overall company objectives.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Development Management:

  • Design, develop, and implement solutions that meet business requirements for insurance products and BAU enhancements.
  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code while adhering to best practices.
  • Conduct testing and debugging to ensure high-quality applications.
  • Assess and design integration with front end systems via inbound, outbound webservice connections through Business Objects.
  • Collaborate with the team of developers, promoting collaboration and professional growth.
  • Align with the agile ceremonies, ensuring effective communication and productivity.
  • Manage and track individual project timelines and deliverables, ensuring high standards of quality.

Technical Analyst:

  • Experienced in product setups and policy administration flow from proposal to exit.
  • Make pragmatic and delivery focused decisions. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements.
  • Identify process improvements and propose solutions to enhance efficiency.
  • Translate business needs into technical specifications for the development team.
  • Analyze system requirements and design solutions that integrate with existing architectures.
  • Document the workflows, the data flows, and the system specifications for clarity and reference.
  • Monitor and assess system performance, addressing issues as they arise.

Qualifications:

Experience and Skills:

  • 7 - 8 years of experience in Life insurance (conventional and takaful) domain and application management.
  • Strong proficiency in SMART400, LifeAsia, Integral Life system along with batches, schedulers and business objects (BOs) for integration.
  • Expertise in web service applications – Eclipse, MSP, SOAP UI, Rest API to integrate LifeAsia/ILS with peripheral systems.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management tools like JIRA, ServiceNow.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering).
  • Insurance certification like LOMA, CMII.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹150, ₹210,000.00 per month

  • Life Asia Developer: 3 years (Required)
  • Life insurance (conventional and takaful) domain: 2 years (Preferred)
  • SMART400, Integral Life system: 3 years (Preferred)
  • Eclipse, MSP, SOAP UI, Rest API: 3 years (Preferred)
