Job Purpose:

We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and optimize our data infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in traditional relational databases as well as modern analytical databases like ClickHouse and StarRocks. You will be responsible for ensuring performance, scalability, availability, and security of the Organisation's data ecosystem.

Who you are:

  • 3–6 years of experience as a Database Administrator or Data Engineer.
  • Strong hands-on expertise with ClickHouse and/or StarRocks.
  • Experience with PostgreSǪL, MySǪL, or MongoDB
  • Proficiency in database tuning, indexing, partitioning, and query optimization.
  • Experience with replication, sharding, and clustering in high-volume systems.
  • Solid understanding of Linux system administration related to databases.
  • Knowledge of scripting (Python, Bash, SǪL) for automation.
  • Hands-on with cloud database services (AWS RDS, GCP, or Azure).
  • Design, configure, and maintain databases (OLTP G OLAP) for scalability and high availability.
  • Manage and optimize ClickHouse and StarRocks clusters for analytics and reporting workloads.
  • Oversee relational databases like PostgreSǪL, MySǪL, MongoDB (as applicable).
  • Monitor performance, troubleshoot bottlenecks, and implement tuning strategies.
  • Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery plans.
  • Ensure data security, compliance, and access controls.
  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to design efficient data models.
  • Support data pipelines and integrations with ETL/ELT processes.
  • Automate monitoring, alerts, and database maintenance using modern tools.
